Patrol as if it was a concentration camp constantly on the look out for troublesome fans to eject or to tell them to pipe down......
Arrogance of the highest order....
I agree, some of them are way over the top and quite aggressive/arrogant. I've been sitting in D block ever since the stadium opened and never once seen any kind of trouble in blocks C2, D nor E, but some of the stewards haven't "got the memo" that all us oldies aren't there to cause trouble!
A couple of times, my season ticket hasn't worked at the turnstile and the concentration camp guard in the little turnstile box has been particularly nasty/aggressive, saying I was at the wrong turnstile, refusing to look at my ticket to see I was in the right place, just basically grunting to tell me to walk away, meaning I had to join the queue at the booking office window to get a paper ticket instead.
And a few times more recently, there's been a line of stewards "protecting" the pitch at final whistle as if expecting some kind of pitch invasion! Most of us oldies in the seating couldn't get over the barrier if we tried, with or replacement hips, arthritic knees, etc!
It's all a joke that isn't funny at all and actually makes fans anxious and creates a poor atmosphere.
