and thankfully no more nurses strikes.....due to less than 45% voted in a national ballot.

Maybe if they had opened the ballot nationally before then all the previous strikes could have been called off.

The rail strikes are now beyond a joke and they need to get back and accept the current offer as other rail unions have done.

The arrogance of their bloody union leader is *hit..... :!: :!: :!:

You know you are talking bollocks, don't you?

The RCN is only one of the nurses' unions. 84% of those who did vote, voted for further strikes, but more than 50% of members must vote, for a strike to be legal. Non-RCN members didn't have a vote.

Thankfully, no more nurses' strikes, I agree. Sadly, nothing done to improve the NHS or the challenges to nursing (and other health & social care professionals), so the NHS will continue its downward spiral

So how did that work out then?

So out of 100% of RCN members eligible to vote what percentage voted for further strikes? Surely all those eligible to vote but decided, for whatever reason, not to vote are effectively 'voting' not to take further strike action. :?

By that logic, everyone who didn't vote in the Brexit Referendum, should have counted as 'Remain' voters?

The point is, it is a significant number of those who voted, wanted to continue industrial action. 84% of those who did vote are clearly not happy.

The point is that you never answered my question. 84% represents what exactly?

It's approximately 40% of the total membership, voting for striking.

It's interesting that when I was nursing, the unions I belonged to (CoHSE>T&G>Unison) were seen as the more militant unions, and RCN were very much against industrial action. Now, the other unions accepted the previous offer, while the RCN remained entrenched in their position.
