I think Ben Sadler tweeted that they won't be ready for the Gala but should be here for the first friendly. I might have got that wrong though !

Looks as though we could be the last or very close to being the last to launch our new shirt but can't understand the reason why :?: :?: :?:

Is it because we have a new shirt sponsor or is that the supplier has put us at the bottom of their production schedule :?: :?: :?:

Whatever the reason the summer holidays are fast approaching when fans want to wear the new shirt overseas.

He didn't exactly say that - there was no mention of the shirt being ready or not for that date, just that its launch won't take place at the Gala draw/dinner - which has been the case for the last few events; they no longer use the Gala Dinner for this purpose.

I'd say this is the reason. Up until a week or so ago the club didn't have a shirt sponsor for the forthcoming season; and had reduced the asking prize for this from £50k to £40k for the season, with a sports agency contacting regional business advertising this availability. There was an indication that this had been sold in the ground sponsorship announcement.

The actual design of the shirts would have been agreed months ago; so hopefully if the shirt sponsor has been sourced, this won't cause further delays - not ideal though with the season fast approaching.

I quote here from Ben's tweet dated 28th June "Still hoping next week but certainly prior to the first friendly"

Helpful if you quote the entire tweet..... which refers to the possibility of a kit reveal at the Gala Draw:

"Not for the last few years and won’t be this year either Paul! Still hoping next week but certainly prior to the first friendly"

As already stated, the club never planned to unveil the kit at the Gala Draw. It being ready before then (the dinner takes place this weekend I believe, although as per the tweet the club are still hoping to have the launch this week) is therefore inconsequential. You're welcome.

Helpful if you read my first reply , where I said that Ben had said the kit would not be unveiled at the Gala Draw. You're welcome.
