Tyson Fury would be a great owner for Morecambe FC, if he was to take up the ownership that would generate massive interest.
I am a big fan of his.

Couple of weeks ago I was in the Lakes with my wife and our dog, as usual I had a couple of days in Morecambe seemed to be more people out an about and a general buzz around the place. I think the project will be great for the town. Is one of my favourite places on that coast.

Good luck for this season, will keep an eye on how you go.

Unfortunately Tyson supports Man Utd. He could afford to buy us but to be fair he has thrown us a few crumbs sponsoring the Womens' team and now the training kit etc.

I wouldn't totally rule Fury out. We probably stand a better chance though when he officially retires. He will need something to keep him occupied and likes being a bit of a local hero/celebrity. He also wanted to get a youth gym going so being on site may allow him to do both. All of it though is dependant on his much publicised mental health issues.

I'd definitely welcome a move from Tyson, with the media circus that would follow. Perhaps an 'Amazon Prime' series, to rival Netflix & Reynolds. It's not happening, unfortunately, and the chancer's options are surely now, entirely buried, so we carry on, skint and chaotic.

My only concern about Tyson taking control would be his possible additions in personnel he would bring to our boardroom or to other areas of OUR club who could be family or well connected to the Tyson Brand.

Our club despite all the uncertainty and upheaval caused by Jason has been run superbly by our current BoD and to lose their knowledge and expertise in running OUR club over the past years would be worrying to say the least. Not suggesting that it could happen but Tyson would possibly want to have a major say in how the club was run under his control after all I can't see him just parting with substantial amounts of money and having no say in how it is run.

I think the vast majority of owners are either in it to try to make a profit (ha ha) or want some say in running the club. The key thing is....how much of a say? I don't think Tyson is going to take it on but if he did I think we'd just have to risk the control side of things. I know what you mean RR but it's the old story of ' beggars can't be chasers'.

I'd agree. Tyson himself wouldn't be interested, but he'd put in his "team" of "professionals" to run it, and sometimes that's not gone well. There's a very long list of famous people who've trusted their "advisors" and "professionals" with their finances, business interests etc which havn't ended well!

Interesting article, but sadly, no mention of buying a football club...

With ongoing mental health problems it may be for the best.

Glad to hear that. Nice that he is sponsoring us but i'm happy it's just that.

Nice to see the fancy golden Ferrari and free drink and protein choccy bars giveaway today. Asked one of his team if the man himself would be turning out but that was a big 'NO'.

Could be an amazing journey for all of us if he was genuinely interested but I don't think it's going to happen.

Shame because it would make Wrecsam look like small fry!

Tyson is a legendary boxer and a good bloke but he has the attention span of a knat, so even if he did put the money up to buy us, I don't think he'd be a focused owner like the Wrexham guys. Plus why would he even bother? Football teams are just money sinks. I don't think there's any way it happens as much as I'm desperate for us to find a benevolent owner who actually has some money to spend.

I don't think it would happen either, but I doubt if Fury has a day to day involvement in his drinks company, so if anything, it would be even better if he was the owner, as he probably wouldn't be interested in actually running the club. But, the publicity for the club would be huge. The difference getting a few live games would make to the club's finances, on its own, would be transformational.

And yes, football clubs are money sinks, so having someone who loves the town, who can actually afford to put cash in, would be incredible.

As I say, I doubt if it would ever happen, but if Tyson Fury did buy the club, I'd be pleased. Actually, right now, anyone decent would be a good start. Was Sarbjot Johal at the game yesterday, or did he go to Wigan?
