4 points from 9 with a totally brand new team is OK in my eyes

Especially if you count the teams we have played

4 points every 3 games would give us 60 which would be pushing mid table

Going to be a very very tough league this season

Only Gillingham have maximum points after 3 games

Every team, except surprisingly Stockport County, Doncaster and Colchester, have won a game, and these 3 will win plenty this season.

At this point it's not easy to see who will he left behind.

Our first 8 are really tough games. Ordered into home and away, there’s 4 home games there against sides who are widely being touted for at least the playoffs, if not autos.

As for the aways, we’ll always find away trips difficult with the quality in this league and our lack of experience and depth. Mansfield were a great side and were tipped for playoffs, Barrow are a very good side and have an excellent manager who’s been backed and will be looking to do one better than last season and get top 7. And finally, the other big name is Gillingham who sit top of the league, with a Championship-level manager, coming off the back of an amazing end to last season where they were in the top 3 sides in the league in those 5 months. As mentioned before, an away trip anywhere will be tough so the tight nature of Harrogate isn’t to be underestimated either.

Might seem like I’m making excuses, but I genuinely do believe this is as tough a run as we’ll get all season, apart from December when we face Stockport, Doncaster, MK Dons, Bradford and Notts County (3 of which are away…!).

Walsall (H) - (2-1 W)
Notts County (H) - record-breaking NL season (0-0 D)
Bradford (H) - play offs last season
Salford (H) - play offs last season

Mansfield (A) - 8th last season, 5th currently (3-0 L)
Harrogate (A)
Barrow (A) - 2nd currently, 9th last season
Gillingham (A) - 1st currently
