Another abysmal referee

Looking at Ross Joyce’s performance today I wonder if there is a worse referee in the Football League. He was abysmal and the shrimps and Farrend Rawson suffered at his hands. In my opinion refereeing like todays bring the game into disrepute.

The assistant on the away fans side was also shocking. Mellon was taken out by the Harrogate fullback when a cross came over near the end , certain penalty and she ignored it.

Don’t think refs are up to speed in a lot of games
The assistants seem not to give decisions apart from off side
Cannot remember who it was ? I think Mellon, taken out last week in front of the assistant and he gave nothing, the ref awarded us the free kick and he was 20 yards away

Soft second yellow thought faz had been fouled and so did town players by the look of it

Swings and roundabouts for me.

I've seen games in which we've got the majority of decisions that have been questionable.

Who'd be a referee :?: :?: :?:

I wish it were true redrobo that refs decisions are "swings and roundabouts" but it seems to me we get the rough end of the stick with many referees decisions. That was certainly true in Division 1 where stonewall penalties for the shrimps were overlooked and the bigger teams got all the 50-50 decisions. Good refs make mistakes yes but they get the big decisions in games correct. Mr Joyce had 3 big decisions to make yesterday and I thought got all 3 wrong- the penalty, the sending off and JJ's assault. I don't feel any sympathy for the ref. He chose to become a referee and got appointed to the league list even though he is very poor. His decisions decided yesterday's result not the football played by the two teams.

If as you suggest we get the rough end of the stick why does it appear that what happened in EFL1 seems to be also happening in EFL2.

Maybe it's something to do with DA's attitude to officials both in game and post game.....just a thought. :?:

The quieter managers do seem to get all the 50 50 decisions from what I've observed sitting quite close to both sets of managers at home games.

We have played poorly at Mansfield and at Harrogate

That's not the officials fault

I agree Redalert that our away form is poor but do you think Rawson handled the ball for the penalty and do you think the sending off was justified?

Don`t think it was a penalty - but also don`t think our penalty against Bradford should have been given either (didn`t hear anyone complaining about that been given though)

Sometimes you get games where everything goes wrong - yesterday was one of them !!!

But to compete in any match / league we need to have more than 1 shot on target

Yes to the handball. I think it hit the underside of his arm.

No to the sending off, I thought the free-kick was actually going to be given to us, so I was a bit surprised to see the ref point the other way. Then I saw he already had the card in his hand while Rawson was still on the ground and thoughts turned to 'oh for f*** sake!.

I kind of understand how he missed the assault on JJ, but the linesman should have seen it, it was right in front of him. His arm/elbow was way up and clearly, when a player is taken off the pitch, dazed, it is the definition of “dangerous play”.

The linesperson also missed a clear foul on Senior.

Just had a look on the dvd of the full match on IFollow and fast forwarded to the incident where JJ gets an elbow in the face.

Observations are as follows :-

How did the referee , 2 assistants and a 4th official not see this piece of foul/dangerous play which warranted an automatic red card.

When it was obviously a head injury why did the referee play on.

When the Morecambe physio is on attending to JJ just look at the referee talking and laughing with a Harrogate player. A Morecambe player comes up to talk to the referee and the ref shoos him away and continues laughing and talking to the Harrogate player.

As JJ is helped off the pitch obviously dazed the player (number 17) who committed the elbow comes up and pats JJ in a friendly manner !

The worlds miserable negative person redalert doesn’t go to games, so wouldn’t listen to him. Clear penalty.

I used to be a ref and most refs tell their assistants to leave the fouls to them, unless super obvious and missed.

MFC Chris - I don`t know who you are but the personal insults are not needed

No.1 - I am not a miserable person

No.2 - I am not a negative person (just have an opinion like all other fans)

No.3 - I have never insulted you so please refrain from insulting me
