King and McKiernan called up to Wales and NI U21s respectively, will miss Barrow and maybe Gillingham

Presumably, Connolly is the third? Never like a free Saturday, but on this occasion, it is a good thing.

If we have lost 4 players out of an already small squad then calling off a game at Barrow makes complete sense. With other injuries/suspensions it might have left us with a squad of 15 or 16.

4 call ups:

Eli King - Wales U21s
JJ McKiernan - Northern Ireland U21s
Jacob Bedeau - Grenada
Adam Mayor - England U20s (standby)

Really shows we have some decent talent in the ranks. James Connolly also represented Wales U21s in the past and could be on the radar for future internationals.

Make that 5 call ups. Michael Mellon added to the list. Brilliant when half a possible starting 11 on international duty.

Jacob played full 90 minutes earlier for Grenada (got booked in the 94th minute)

1 - 1 draw against Suriname

Well done Jacob

Grenada are due to play away at Honduras on Wednesday morning so if Jacob plays in that game i would be very surprised if he is selected for the Gillingham game

JJ started for Northern Ireland whilst Ely King was on the bench for Wales.

Neither Michael Mellon for Scotland or Adam Mayor for England were in their respective match day squads but both featured in their training squads.

Jacob Bedeau played the entire 90 minutes in Grenada's game last week and is in line for a further appearance tomorrow v Honduras

Must be some kind of record for an EFL2 club to have 5 players in their respective International squads.

Credit must go to DA in his ability to develop loan players seems to have recognition throughout the game otherwise why would clubs be prepared to loan us players with potentially good careers ahead of them.

It was due to Government advice that he didn't go to Honduras so no injury thankfully.

If we have 3 away in the October International break then it looks like Crawley at home could be postponed.

I don't like a backlog of fixtures and any good runs we get will keep getting broken up.

Who understands how CONCACAF works? Grenada are in a group of six teams, yet (for example) Dominica are in a group of only three teams. It's obviously not geography, as Dominica is only four island nations north of Grenada. There are two groups of six, four of four, and three groups of three. Jacob could end up with frequent call-ups to the international squad.

I'd imagine the rearranged fixture, if held midweek, would be our smallest gate of the year.
Maybe some sort of food/drink promotion might help. Would be nice to keep crowds in the 3000+ bracket all season.

Good excuse to go to Lancaster Music Festival for the day, its always a great event.

Unlikely as we would have a game as would Crawley the day before on a Saturday.

If both teams exit the FA Cup in the 1st round there would be a vacant Saturday in early December.

I would much rather we win the 1st round FA Cup match and also the 2nd round one so the club make some money.

Crawley will only bring 150 whenever it's played so not a huge cash loss playing it on a Tuesday night.

Such is the life of a guesthouse proprietor. Years ago we had a party of Germans booked for a week, then the Falklands War kicked off and they cancelled as "they couldn't visit a country that was at war!"
