Fleetwood just sacked Scott Brown after 5 successive league defeats.

The first manager to be sacked from Strangeways

Harsh...

...but

Although, the pedant in me would suggest, Allardyce or Megson would have had that dubious honour, when Oyston was in prison for rape, while still majority share holder at Blackpool.

Can't believe I'm going to say this but we should be thankful to Jason that as the owner he didn't get rid of DA last season after relegation.

Maybe our excellent BoD have made a positive case to the owner that DA is the ONLY manager capable of putting together a competitive team from scratch on a limited budget and to date it's working perfectly.

If Pilley the Fleetwood owner is having an influence from behind prison bars and walls then I pity whoever takes over....JUST AS LONG AS THEY STAY CLEAR OF APPOINTING DA ....BUT I SOMEHOW FEEL THAT DA WOULD NOT BE INTERESTED WORKING IN SUCH CONDITIONS.

I have no personal knowledge of this but I thought I had read somewhere that the name Strangeways had been scrapped and the prison was now called Manchester Prison! Is Pilley resident there?

You are probably correct. I doubt if he is in a Category A prison.

White collar criminals tend to go to more open institutions with them being unlikely to abscond and commit murders and violent attacks.

Surprised by this but probably should not be.

Allowed to bring in 6 or 7 players one on deadline day then not given time to work with them, I think he is a good coach and at times when they played us they did not look a poor team.

He will get back in probably North of the border, lick his wounds and then get another go at it.

Can't help but wonder if there is something else going on. Feel sorry for their true fans, but over the next couple of years, I expect they'll they make us look like a beacon of stability.

Shows how stupid the EFL are when the main Pilley man will still be directing things from behind his prison bars.....

'96' in the name of the company makes you assume the company has been in business for 28 years, not the 1 year without any accounts to show

Mr Pilley also owns Waterford FC

The year he was born. This was the same lad who was fighting in the away end in 2012 with his Dad cheering him on. He is a thug. I feel sorry for Fleetwood fans.

Spoke to both of them around a decade ago on the train to London when both clubs had away fixtures in the Greater London area. Wasn't impressed by the attitude of either father or son... In fact, Shifty Andy was even asking searching questions about Rod Taylor as if he was wanting to poach him away from us!
