Think it was Gillingham and another club who received a £3000 plus costs fine for a similar incident in a recent match.

We can ill afford to throw money away due to the actions of players no matter what the justification may be.

Should the club fine the players who got involved.... :?: :?: :?:

No , not in my humble opinion.

Morecambe's team spirit is one of our big assets and if we start fining players who are not paid anything like Wrexham/Salford players then it may well affect that. It was heat of the moment stuff and they went to protect a colleague who had been hacked by Lund.

Hopefully Lund and Salford will get the lions share of any fines but knowing the FA they will probably make them equal !

No way should the club fine the players. The Salford lad kicked out at the Morecambe player and for me it was great to see how our players reacted to protect one of their own. I would have been more disappointed if there was no reaction.

Sadly it wasn’t all one sided , I saw one of our playing staff call the player something unrepeatable ( even on here ) which made him see red and lash out . He actually looked like his punch had contacted with les but couldn’t be sure .

I'd also add that if Love's 'hair pull' had been seen by an official, he'd have had a red card too. I was concerned that the FA would have retrospectively handed one out, and he'd be looking at a suspension.

We get fined £3000 and Salford fined £3500, yet their player kicks out and then lashes out when walking towards the tunnel, we apparently pull someones hair and swear. I personally believe the margin in fines should be a lot greater, bigger the offence, bigger the fine. I still don't have a problem with our reaction and I would think most managers, although not saying it publicly, would want their teams to react the same way.

Three grand well spent for me. The way the team came together was brilliant and will carry us a long way this season.

Does anyone know if Lund got additional punishment for the tunnel incident or just the normal 3 match ban for his violent play ?
