I rarely watch Match of the Day, but I am doing tonight.

Watching the Spurs v Liverpool match. We complain about refs, and us playing against 12 men, but Liverpool were playing against 13! Why have VAR dragging games out, if they can't even get the most obvious decisions right? Awful red card, awful on-side goal ruled out. VAR was Spurs MotM!

VAR is laughable and as made the game of football worse

Really hope we never get it below the premier league

I'm not one of conspiracy theories.
However some of the decisions made this season have been laughable.
Those doing the VAR are either inept or corrupt, it has to be one or the other.
Neither are good for something that was meant to reduce errors in officiating.
The technology is there for automated offside, why aren't they using it?

God help us if this system makes its way down to our level as some already struggle to use a simple flag....

Liverpool are known as the VAR champions. It has saved them on a lot more occasions than it has cost them.

The better team won the match , just look at the match stats.

Nothing to do with what sides are involved, some of the decisions this season have been baffling.

VAR was meant to help stop errors, it seems to be making things even worse.

Hey , I'm with you. I would like to see VAR done away with and go back to on-field decisions. It will never happen though.

I do like the goal line technology although unless the EFL pay for it then clubs in the bottom 2 divisions won't be getting it.

I just made the point that VAR has saved Liverpool a lot more than it has hurt them and Tottenham deserved to win on shots , shots on target , possession , corners etc and also less fouls by Tottenham.

Everybody knew that VAR was the worst thing to happen to football but now that the Dippers are on the wrong side of it, it will go to a whole new level!

VAR is horrendous for football but the silver lining will be that it drives more fans in to watching lower and non league footy.

Just to be clear, I am not, and never have been a Liverpool fan, in any way, shape or form. But, I couldn't believe what I saw. The red card should have been obviously wrong, by viewing VAR, and the off-side was bizarre!

As others have said, let's hope it never becomes something used in League One or Two.

If there was no such thing as VAR then the linesman's decision would have been final. When the rule was thought up about 150 years ago nobody was expected to know if a player was offside by about 3 centimetres. Morecambe have had plenty of worse decisions than Klopp got yesterday but we don't get to shout them from the rooftops , the offside wrongly given against a Dylan Connolly goal springs to mind , also the penalty not given at Bolton.

If you mean the straight red card rather than the 2 yellows I thought that was an over the ball tackle that could have broken a leg. Do we know if Liverpool are appealing it ?

But that's my point! They have VAR and still get the decisions blatantly wrong. Without VAR, the goal isn't given and Match of the Day focus upon a mistake by the linesman. It happens. Now, there is an expensive, intrusive system, that still gets it wrong.

I think the straight red, he played the ball but the ball itself 'moved' his foot up and over, it was there to be played and wasn't dangerous. The original yellow card was correct, in my opinion. VAR showing it again, in slow-motion, made it look much worse. The other red card, the first yellow was a dreadful decision.

Yes, we have had some woeful refereeing decisions, the goalkeeper rugby tackling our forward at Doncaster, and getting a goal kick was probably the worst decision I remember, but there are plenty to go at. It isn't that the officials got it wrong, that amazed me, it was that VAR made the decisions worse!

Liverpool now asking for audio from the VAR room, I don't quite understand where they are going with this.

If the VAR had been more open from the start, with audio like they do in rugby, they wouldn't be in this position so it's their own fault really.

Imagine paying all that money to sit in a stadium and not know what is going on. Again lets hope this never finds its way down the leagues to us.

Yeah ok but like I said you can't really fairly compare those stats when one team only had 11 men for 25 minutes.

The audio hasn't helped much. Compared to rugby and cricket they just sound very unprofessional.

Whilst Liverpool are getting mocked by some for their stance, if it makes changes to VAR that will help all clubs. Although there is no way a replay of the game will ever take place!

VAR is sadly here to stay so pressure does need applying to make it the best version of VAR you could hope for.

Audio for all to hear at the time of the check is a must, especially for those paying through the nose to be in the stadium.

It would never happen, but I'd like to see VAR used by the ref being able to view an incident twice, at normal speed. If it is a 'clear & obvious error', then he'll spot it. If still unsure, then the error isn't, by definition, a 'clear & obvious error'. Match of the Day will still play an incident, over & over, frame by frame, but for the game itself, minimal disruption and fewer 'big' mistakes.
