As if telephone scam calls were not bad enough there is now a new method of scamming and that is by ones voice being copied / scammed and then used to instruct your bank to release funds.

BBC1 have just given an on air demo of how easy it is by using specialist software to take just a few of examples of ones voice and to produce enough content to fool banks or similar financial institutions into given the scammer any amount of money they wish.

Anyone who appears on the internet or YouTube and speaks can be voice scammed..... :o

This new development is particularly alarming for those who regularly receive unsolicited calls and answer the caller with just a few words.

Suggest that you use BBC iPlayer to view the article and the potential misery it can bring to those unaware of this frightening new development.

Surely they still need account details and passwords to access the money.

I remember, not that long ago, saying "my voice is my password" to some organization so we could use that method of security check, Santander perhaps? HSBC? we don't use either of them since they left town, I don't think that will be carrying on doing that after those revelations!
