Second half of the season.

We are fast approaching Christmas with some hard games up till New Year. We are then in the second half of the season. Clubs are treating us differently because of how well we have done. They now know our game and over the last few games we have fallen short. It’s not crisis time, but if we want to be up in contention at the end of the season we need to mix it up. I prefer two up front, Mellon struggling to lead the line on his own, we would get more out of him if he linked up with a centre forward in a 4-4-2 formation. What do you all think? 20 points off safety and 35+ from maybe a play off place?

Safety is the priority. Where we are with finances and ownership makes promotion, for me at least, a bad idea. Need a new owner and stable financing, then we look forward.

I think the last few games have shown our limitations and survival is the order of the day. To achieve this we need to strengthen with a new keeper and an experienced midfielder in my opinion. Clubs have learnt we break quickly so they don't over commit and leave a couple of defenders back to deal with the fast breaks.

Such a frustrating situation. Last season, if we had invested a little in one or two more quality players, we'd still be in L1. Now we find ourselves in a great position to get back up, but our manager jumps ship, we hire a coach and now we are talking about survival. Jason probably hasn't got the money anyway, but his lack of investment keeps knocking the club down, when we are pushing towards improvement.

Carlise have new owners who are based in America.
It begs the question as to why we seem unable to attract a buyer and is the problem the money that Jason wants for our club...
If it is the price then Jason should realize that the cost is simply too high for an EFL2 club irrespective of the position our club is in regarding the current infrastructure both on and off the field. Surely we are in a unique position as a club....so what's the hold up....
ANSWERS PLEASE JASON.....

I think for every fairytale takeover from a rich benefactor, there are plenty of clubs stuck with rubbish owners. Carlisle is more attractive as they are L1, have a bigger ground and fanbase. We might still get someone but I guess if it's anyone with perceived money, Jason asks for more. He's probably kicking himself for not selling last year to the local consortium when the price was higher being in L1

I honestly get the impression Jason really just isn't arsed about us anymore, I bet he couldn't tell you who we played on Saturday, where we are in the table or any of the players in squad.

Was there a definite offer made, or just rumour? It could be, that no genuine offers have been made at any point?

i can see us going into free-fall after watching last nights second defeat in a week, and our unbeaten home record gone, we just don't look as organised .

I agree Andy. We have looked disorganised in the last two games and the shape of the team has been wrong. The manager lives and dies by his team selections and I think there has to be questions about the two line ups in Ged's management. In my opinion, the Wrexham game cried out for Songo in midfield and last night I think Slew would have been a good second half substitute to bring a bit of movement and pace into a very flat side.

In my opinion, the skills and mindset etc required to be a successful football manager, are NOT the same as those required to be a successful football coach.
Ged definitely IS a good and successful coach, but I feel (from the interviews that I have seen so far), that he does not have the necessary attributes to be a successful manager. He doesn't appear to me to be outgoing enough. I hope that he can develop into a good manager and I certainly wish him well.
Time will tell I guess.

We have to hope that Derek has managed to keep us up for a third time with his start to this season.
It is amazing how quickly looking at going 2nd has turned in to staying up.
