Forest Green have been ordered to replay their First Round Tie v Scarboro due to having fielded an ineligible player.

Barnsley got kicked out for a similar offence.....where is the logic in such a crass decision that benefits FG.... :?: :?: :?:

Sounds to me as though the FA make up their rules as they go along.

Probably. But, what have the FA said about their decision (if anything?) Their press release doesn't go in to details, but is it a technical breach rather than a blatant one? I think Barnsley played a player who was cup-tied, having already played in the FA Cup in a previous round. Was the FGR [for example] the emergency loan goalkeeper had permission to play in EFL games, but needed additional permission, which would have been given, in order to play in the FA Cup? [I'm making that up, I've no idea if that is the case]. If it was something like that, then the two offences are both 'illegible player' but with different mitigation.

However, if they are both the same, then it does appear very unfair on either Barnsley or Scarborough.

Barnsley broke rule 103 by fielding an unregistered player

FGR broke rule 109 by fielding a loan player who hadn't got permission to play by his parent club
