:o I would imagine a lot could still go wrong before it's over the line. However he has shunned the media in recent times so would he really go on national radio if he wasn't very confident that this could be a done deal??????

It's only the great publicity from the Board and the Trust which has made him publicly defend his corner.

He's only come out now because he has some good news.

I fear it's going to be Sarbjot as didn't his last accounts suddenly show he had money in the pop business even though they were obviously made up.

I hope and think it is the USA people who will buy the club. I don't think the King would have taken the job if it was Sarbjot.

I agree GS but if it was Sarbjot it would be a case of out of the frying pan into the fire and we'd need every penny of the Trust fighting fund.

Johal is not normally backward at coming forward when he is about to invest in a new business venture...he tends to pop uo on social to share the news...Rimstock is one example ...how did that pan out I wonder...

The fact that he's gone quiet can mean one of two things....he's no longer interested or he's remaining tight lipped until he's signed on the dotted line.

There nothing to show on his Instagram account....

You can't blame Johal for hanging about, he is 200k in and has nothing to show for it. He has been duped by the Clown as well.

The Clown comes across a bit of a prick in the interview. He has pot shots at the Board and clearly hates the Trust.

Damaging his ego and reputation was always the way to flush him out. The Trust and the Board have played a blinder.

He might still change his mind, so we have just heard his version of events, thou he got it wrong here and there, and let’s hope it pans out like he hinted.

Save your harsh criticism till after the sale or the 10-14 days have elapsed.

Johan can either keep his share or sell them, maybe the Shrimps Trust can buy them? That would be good for the Club.

Slightly confused at what Johal thought he was getting from buying 200k of shares. Presumably they were directly from Jason so he must now own a percentage of the club but am I right in thinking that anybody with less than 50% has next to no influence on anything?

What do 200000 shares in Morecambe get you? You are a minority shareholder in a loss making company. You might get invited to shareholder meetings but apart from that, they are worthless.

BW are you not into fans having a slice of shares in the Club, through the Shrimps Trust or as a group of individuals. Johal had to pay money to get them so I take it if someone was willing to buy it he could sell them for money. How much a share is worth, will at this moment, be decided by how much JW is selling his share for.

The way you paint it JW will get nothing as shares are worthless, yet he will pocket a large sum of money, your post is not doing it for me, please explain.

Looking at his business acumen it's probably the only thing he does have... Vitanic Soft Drinks aren't setting the world alight and Rimstock have just gone into administration...

JW has the most shares so his shares have value. There are thousands of shareholders in MFC but they have no say in anything as they were issued as fund raisers mainly. I think at one point you had to buy a share to be allowed in to JB's. You can search for the share holders online.

I'm all for the Trust having shares but unless they get a seat on the Board, they are pointless

Thanks BW I think I know where you’re coming from, I think usually you have to have a certain percentage of shares to be on the BOD’s. Shares will have worth only if someone buys them of you but they don’t buy you influence.

You can thou be invited to have a seat on the BOD’s. I don’t think the likes of our current BOD’s hold vast amounts of shares, even between them. They bring knowledge and experience so it is also what can be brought to the table and I think the Shrimps Trust can bring ideas and influence decisions. They can also be a link with the wider fan base.

It’s great the Trust and the BOD’s already meet but I’m all for the Shrimps Trust having a place on the board. It’s time for the Shrimps Trust to branch out and move towards having a seat at the Clubs top table.

I think the Trust has come in to it's own in the last few months and is becoming a force. There are some very good, professional people involved with good ideas and knowledge. It would be great for us if any new owner asked for a Representative of the Trust to join the Board.

Johal's shares are probably only worth anything if someone is willing to buy them. He's in the same boat as the hundreds of other shareholders who don't have even near any kind of influential vote even if everyone banded together. JW is the majority shareholder and has complete control of the company. If the buyer only wants to buy JW shares and no one else's, then the other shareholders are well and truly stuffed!

Except, however, maybe Johal bought the shares with some kind of "money back guarantee" as part of a shareholder's agreement - who knows! Or maybe there was some kind of agreement that Johal's shares would be sold at the same terms as JW's shares to a future buyer? No one knows other than Johal and JW what were the actual terms of the share issue.

So it’s All or nearly all, well 51% of the shares to be the largest shareholder or it’s a waste of time holding any.

I think there is more to it than that and I think the Shrimps Trust should have a seat on the BOD’s and can become a valuable member, contributing greatly to Morecambe FC’s next chapter.

It's all about the 600k+ shares that PMG sold on to Lemos and then Burnard and then to Bond. Every other share is worthless.

It does baffle me why a savvy businessman like Sarb took the shares instead of a loan

Has anyone got a link to the section of the podcast he's on? Or the time he's interviewed? Just opens a link to the full show.

TIA

I got the nod at about 11.40am the interview was going to be on the show.

I started listening on Alexa at 11.45 and the interview was broadcast at about 11.47am.

I don’t know how long that was into the show.

The interview finished about 11.56am

Is that any help to people who want to hear the interview?

https://www.morecambefc.com/club/company-details/

Jason/Bond Group own 81% of the shares according to the club website.

2023 confirmation statement details that Sarb Capital own 200,000 shares.

https://find-and-update.company-informa ... ng-history

The same document states that bond group own 4,253,519 shares. There are 5,256,181 in total. I work that out to mean Sarbjot Johal/Sarb Capital own 3.81% of the club with his 200,000 shares.
