How much longer is the embargo saga going on....until it's sorted I understand we can't announce the names of our new signings.

Clubs under an embargo can staff up during the transfer window up to 23 unattached players on a maximum of 12 months contract and loan players within that 23 limit but loaned until a maximum of 6 months. There is no restriction to announcing signings, I mean it would be pretty bloody difficult to do that once the season starts however I have a sneaky feeling or rather I'm hoping that they are working on getting the embargo lifted meaning we can sign as per normal conditions but they can't announce if this is the case if contract conditions breach the embargo. I could of course be very very wrong

It would be useful to know who or what the embargo is for. I don't understand the secrecy that our BoDs seem to want to maintain.

When it was made public it sounded a simple error that for some reason has become a major issue.

Why the secrecy....... :?: :?: :?:

I'm afraid that with the length of time being taken and the silence surrounding it we should assume the club has done something wrong. Will we ever know?

I am afraid the vat fiasco explained in gobbledegook by one of the board is clearly much more serious than we were told and the long delay in payment must mean it is a very significant amount. The secrecy only adds to the questioning of what is going on. We need truthfulness and openness. The club is not a secret society. Please tell us what is the problem.

It’s been a while now and all the speculation still abounds but one subject has fallen off the cliff and that’s administration! I take it is no where near an option but to stop this continual mess that is happing at the Club was it like some suggested the best option for the Club if it got rid of JW. To send him packing with less money than he is still holding out for, I can only presume.

The silence is the part that hurts the fans and to some people at the Club it doesn’t seem to matter! Definitely not Jason

The only bright spots for me are Derek Adams returning to take charge of recruitment. I tell myself he wouldn't have come back unless there was something better going to happen. And who else but him could manage this club at the moment ! Also the appointment of Danny Grainger as Assistant Manager was a huge boost and let's hope the management team can focus on the team rather than whether wages are on time etc

The whole Embargo issue has me perplexed. Having been in charge of the V.A.T. dept at a large accountancy firm myself what on earth has happened that we seem to be at loggerheads with H.M.R.C. ? The Morecambe fans who the club want to buy season tickets in similar numbers to last season (circa 2,500+) deserve a full explanation rather than this "it's on a need to know basis and you don't need to know" attitude from the club hierarchy !

It clear the fans are hurt by the silence by what you read on here and Facebook or Twitter X and by talking to other fans.

A need to know basis!!!

As fans we are being isolated and what has been built up will decline if the TRUST between the Club and the fans is not maintained.

It’s a    to the Club at the moment on the relationship front with the fans at the moment.

Either the Board members who used to read SV's no longer do so or it's so serious that they're afraid what will happen if they tell us the facts..... Or it's to do with the legal situation......or 'argumentative' Jason has put a ban on communications which he did once before.

Take your pick

I'm surprised and somewhat annoyed that no Board member is prepared to give reasons as to why the Embargo is still in place and even more surprised that no Board member is prepared to inform the clubs fans and shareholders why the complete silence regarding the current state of play regarding the Embargo.

The longer the silence continues the longer fans will become disenchanted with the club and simply walk away.

There has to be a reason for this complete silence. Whatever the reason then the BoDs can't continue with the silence and the fans deserve better.

If it is because Jason has forbid any further communication between the Board and the fans....then let us know otherwise it will encourage speculation and mistrust in our Board and in particular the owner (which is at an all time low already) going forward.

:( :( :(

Remember this statement from a Co Chairman way back in March....

Our BOD are fantastic for our club and remember they are fans themselves so only one thing springs to mind for me…..they have been warned off from communicating by the owner ie threatened with removal because remember he is the majority share owner and so can do as he wishes otherwise what else would keep them so silent?

It's been extremely disappointing and it feels like we've taken a massive step backwards to being mushrooms again. The lack of communication regarding the original VAT issue; no update on whether the embargo is still in force or not; the lack of real clarity on the funds Jason recently put into the club, however unexpected that was. On the latter, why has this issue not been resolved as a result?

The silence is indeed deafening.

Hope it wasn't a case of getting the Shrimpers and Shrimps mixed up again! ;)

Wouldn't it be a free hit for any potential new owner to pay off the debt and get the embargo lifted? If i was wanting to win over a very sceptical bunch of fans, it would be the first thing i'd do.

For me the Embargo fiasco prompts the question why the secrecy. It makes people wonder if there has been negligence or carelessness. It also makes fans wonder about the size of the debt owing to HMRC. There can be no doubt that keeping fans in the dark has set back relationships and harmed our family friendly club. I suspect the way fans have been treated will impact on season ticket sales.

Dave Salmon reporting on X/Twitter that Embargo may have been lifted.

EFL website states "There are currently no Clubs under embargo."
