I was told today by a youth coach (affiliated but not employed by the club) that Charlie has been away from the first team die to personal matters. Not sure how true that is but would explain the absence and the lack of communication from the club - possibly out of respect.
I wonder if someone could just ask Derek on a reason for his absence? We interview him enough on just generic content.

I guess you may be answering your own question? If it is true, then the reporters are probably aware, and therefore won't ask the question, out of respect to Brown's privacy?
That said, it may be useful to make a very simple statement, if it is the reason?

Yeah, you are right. I suspect that is what is happening. Radio silence suggests so in this circumstance.
Any of the die hards on here who watch training taken note of him not being there?

I'm sure he was photographed in training gear before Huddersfield away, despite then not appearing on the bench. No clue if he traveled or not?
Think I also saw him out at the front of the stadium on Saturday with a couple of the other lads not in the squad talking to fans and taking pics etc.
Did somebody mention he might have a back injury?

Derek mentions Charlie has had a back injury, at the end of his pre-Doncaster interview. Let's hope he's fit again soon.

It was strange that this was the first time it has been mentioned, but good to be told. Hopefully he'll be fit soon.

Dackers has played ten games this season, and not scored a goal.
How can we have a goalscorer at the club, who can't get a game, while a non-goalscorer is playing every game?

DA has obviously got a problem with Charlie but why did he sign him in the first place...if he had no intention of playing him.....
When we had a change of manager last season he played Charlie and he did well.
Problem is that the media will not ask him the difficult questions..it's as if they are scared of his reaction.
Listening to DA post match he says there is nobody who can take the chances being created......bloody hell talk about a way of putting a player down ie Brown is awful.

It's wasn't Adam's who extended Brown's contract - it was Ged. That's the problem right there. Although initially it was Derek I believe.

Redrobo, the last line of your post could read even worse. Six forwards in the squad and only one has a chance of scoring a goal.

Derek has obviously changed his opinion of Charlie Brown. One feels it must be something in his character that is wrong for the way Derek wants to play or he would have given him a chance with our lack of fire power. Personally I'd like to see him coming on instead of Hope but Derek knows best.

CB missed a couple of open nets from just a few feet away during the Summer friendlies. He looked terribly off pace. If he's like that during training, I can understand why he's struggling to get game time.

Our current crop of centre forwards are probably the worst we’ve had in years. It baffles me that Derek won’t even give Charlie Brown a chance, given his performances last season.
