Similar to the Barkhuizen situation where we had to sell him early and at a whopping discount to Preston as we needed some cash to pay the player's wages.
Not sure Derek has done the right thing by making this public. Now Lincoln know we're desperate and it weakens our negotiation position now they know we are in a pickle and need money this week and can't wait for several months for it to go to tribunal.
What a mess the club is in.
It was always the case due to the time that it takes for a tribunal to respond so I don't have an issue with DA making it known how we need some money for JJ as a matter of urgency.
This situation of course would not have arisen if the ownership problem was sorted but L fear that it is going to drag on and on and on...as I question whether Jason actually wants to sell for reasons of the interest we pay on any loans.
DA needs some pennies to negotiate with as he and everybody connected to our club realizes that a striker is now a priority.
I can't blame Lincoln for getting JJ on as little amount as possible...we would do the same if the roles were reversed. However i am sure they are fully aware of our predicament and will hopefully respond with an acceptable offer although it is likely to be well below that of what a tribunal would value.
Football is a business and finances are tight in all clubs outside of the Premiership. Let's hope that a deal can be sorted this week in time for DA to negotiate for a much needed striker.
Little chance of Jason providing further monies with an assurance that he would receive the money from Lincoln in return.......nah.... pigs might fly.....
