IF a new owner...

If the sale of the club really is with the EFL...

Sorry...

Anyway, let's pretend...

If the sale of the club really is with the EFL, and goes through, and a new owner has some cash to splash, I wonder whether there are any decent free agents still hanging around, looking for a club? Or, would we have to wait until January to bring some fresh legs in?

IF this is the case and we are say 12 point cut adrift in January. Would you rather go all out and try and survive? Or prepare for the National League?

In my opinion our only hope at present is having a run in the FA CUP

Trouble is, even with a cup run, is it 100% certain that the Board would give it to Derek to spend in January, or would they (like they did in first year of L1), just use the massive profit just to pay down the loans??

Of course there are decent free agents out there. Scott Hogan on Saturday anyone. However he would no doubt be well out of our price range unless the mythical decent owner rides in to the rescue. Anyway as you say it’s very unlikely decent owners are on the horizon despite Mr Whittingham’s bullshit.

If Jason is gone by January we've a chance.
If he's still here it's game over for our football league adventure.
You only have to look at Yeovil, Dagenham and Macclesfield who played at league 1 level and just tummbled back down to non league.
Let's be honest that's us isn't it?

I just wish we could chuck the League ground rules away if we do go down

Jordi Hiwulla is still without a club. We would be going down!

The EFL has said it is working with all parties, so why say that if nothing is with them? Obviously, (let’s be generous and say the papers went in around the time, the man with no new name, said they had) there must be part of the process the new prospective owners have not passed or they have only just gone in or as some believe it’s all just hogwash.

So the so called buyer still needs to supply certain information to EFL (sounds ominous to me especially after such a long time)

Sounds like they still can't provide evidence that the money they have comes from a legal/legitimate source!! As was the case last year if it's the same potential buyer!

The new owner now knows what they have to do, aren’t the EFL rules clear? so why haven’t they got it right before now. It doesn’t fulfill you with confidence does it.

Or are the EFL rules a nightmare to pass?

Wigan's sale went through in less than a week.

Shrimps fans panel came up with a few good things in the discussions.
Will the new owners be better than though’s we have had recently?
13 games in, are we good enough?
Will we be in any position to bring in anybody in January?
The fans are being supportive if the players?
The new owners should have a check list and should be working threw them quickly, hopefully!!

I wish they had discussed confidence.

We were led to believe about 12 months ago the EFL instructed a buyer to provide information but it turned out no forms had been submitted.Surely the EFL has a list they give to prospective owners to complete, sorry i dont believe a word Jason says.He just continues to borrow money to put into the club and charges mfc a shed load more.Whats the betting we cant afford wages again before the end of the season.

Exactly. If there is any delay, I'm not expecting it to be the EFL who are dragging their feet. Whittingham knows EXACTLY what the EFL require. If the prospective buyer hasn't provided the necessary evidence, there's a reason for that. Too many people blame the EFL for not doing "something" about Whittingham, even though they have no legal powers to do “something” about him. I want them to do full due diligence on any prospective new owner.

Absolutely right Keith. It's no good us getting a new owner like the one we have now. I feel sure that with the new Regulator Bill coming before the House soon the EFL will not want to slip up.

If it had been sold sooner at the inflated price it would have saved quite a few quid on capital gains tax when the owner fills in his tax return after the upcoming budget
