Tough one, but I'm not all that sure it does directly help the club to be honest, not in terms of individuals signing up for Morecambe World anyway. I imagine that money goes straight to PremiumTv. Don't get me wrong, I have bought World and I value the service (others don't, just my opinion) due to mainly not being able to make many of the games (especially the home ones). But if you are buying the World service simply to give money to the club, you'd be better off writing them a cheque or buying something from the club shop (some special price £9.99 home shirts for example
).
What the deal with Premium Tv offers IMO is a much more up to date site which seems to enable other areas of the press to keep a tap on MFC much more easily. Announcements on our official sites seem to be picked up by the BBC et all quite rapidly now. The old official site was a great database (probably had more information than the current one), but wasn't really updated with anything other than a match reports. I certainly didn't use the old site as much as I do the current one. Obviously other parts of the site like the club shop also generate money for the club, which were not available on the old site (from memory).
