Main stand County 'fans?'

In paddock yest, had a spoilt first half with a racket of abuse coming from the Away 'fans' in the Main Stand. Seemed to be aimed at board, manager, team, etc etc and was most disconcerting. Even Sammy struggled to make himself heard!!
Moved to other end later and it was good to hear 'the man with the loud voice' showing more positive support for his team.

Can't ever imagine our 'fans' being so negative throughout a match. Times must be bad at Notts Co. :(

Theres a topic on their message board asking how many fans are going to get a season ticket next year, almost every reply is a no!

All i know is that his name was Nathan and the police gave him some kind of letter. Then he was marched away, presumably out of the groud.

Apparently this Nathan got arrested after the Braford match and was banned for the rest of the season? But they found him, he sat down when he saw them

The County "fans" were very loud in the first half. We realised that they were slinging abuse at their Chairman while facing the home seats. A few were quite intimidated and our directors box were quite embarassed for the away hierarchy. The Notts fans had obviously come into the seating area specially to vent their feelings against their own board rather than support their team behind the goal. CC missed all the action
They were removed for the 2nd half as per this quote from a Notts. fan:
"I thought it put shame on Notts fans in general, Morcambe are a family club and before the game an announcment made by very young children over the tannoy said as much and asked for no abusive chanting...''respect each other and enjoy the game''. Why then did a group in the seats vent abuse at JAH and also may I add EK..the chanting of Armstrong is a W****ER also spread to a few who were standing, followed by great big smiles as if it was a joke..? ..And then at half time, I saw at least 7 of those ''fans'' leave the ground, ..some supporters they are....walk out at half time because the stewards stop the bad language....!!! I checked with the steward who let them out and he said he told them they could not come back in if they left and they told him they were not bothered and were going for a beer..!! Pathetic..!"

Yet another example of how lucky are we :D

To be fair, there's usually a section of the North Stand that boo that announcment

Thanks for clearing that up. My 9 year old made the astute observation that they were .....'not proper fans'.

To be fair it took the stewards a long time to spot the abusive chanting.

Feel sorry for the genuine County fans that they have scum associated with their club

It was only about 15 or 16 years ago that some of our fans had a 'sack the board' protest in front of the Main Stand about Griff being sacked.

The fans at the time thought it was a poor decision and were concerned about the future of the club. However, that decision led to Leighton James being appointed and in turn Jim Harvey as his number two, who was later promoted to manager.

I couldnt hear the nature of the chants, but without knowing the reason I wouldnt like to judge.
