Working over here in Sheffield quite a lot I hear about local scams and there's one that's starting to spread. If you get an invoice from ebuygum.com, report it to the poice.

Which anyone with an online account will be repeatedly warned against time after time. If I posted a message every time I got a new scam email, you'd be well pissed off with Gnasher within a few days.

I think it's fair to say that if you get an email asking you for money, when you know you haven't bought anything, only a complete and utter numpty would be taken in by that.

You can usually tell anyway because the email doesn't address you in person, and if you hover over the link, and look at the bottom left of the screen it tells you where the link takes you. It's usually something .RU or .CZ or similar.

FFS...I try and warn people of something and all I get is a load of abuse.

Next time I'll do nowt and let some unsuspecting person get stung!

Where do you draw the line with security warnings on a football forum? Like I said, I would quite happily update the forum with new security warnings and if each one stopped just one person being caught out, I've been a good boy. I won't because it's a football forum and I would flood it with warnings so back to my first question, where do you draw the line?

The way I read it was that it was done with the best of intentions.

I would say to anyone that was moved enough to keep bringing it back to the top. If you dont like it, ignore it and let it sink. It hasnt done any harm.

While non-football posts don't flood the forum, I don't have a problem. When we struggle to find a football post because of the 10 daily thread about scams and virus, then I do have a problem. If I posted 10 threads every day about scams, etc, would you say well done to me? Back to the line again.

I'm well aware of the nature of the forum especially as I created it and intentionally added "What it says on the tin".

There are probably 10 press releases a week from Lancaster City Council. If you posted all those up, that would be flooding. Instead you choose which ones interest you and introduce them as a topic on here.

Other people introduce other things that dont really have any relavance to Morecambe FC, which is fine.

Personally I detest the local politics discussions on here and I am not 'too' bothered about The Dome discussions or whether Maggie Thatcher was the Devil. I just ignore them. Other people love it.

I bet this would have been on page 2 by now if people hadnt kept on.

I know what you mean mark......up until a few weeks ago I never knew that I had a long lost relative in Nigeria......expecting the millions to be transferred anyway soon.

The 'best' scam I've heard was one that targeted individuals who had already been duped by a 419 type fraud. The individuals were offered help and support in getting over falling for the fraud, and in getting the money back that they had originally lost. This of course involved the transfer of further funds.....

Jessica John thinks I am worthy of an honorary degree.

How do you define which press release is interesting? Very few are to me.

Not much difference someone posting about Councillors shortcomings and the latest scam to me personally.

Its either 'football only' or 'open to anything'. There is no definitive list of what can or what cant be posted (unless of course it is illegal, obscene, abusive etc)
