Police at Chester game

Postby nobbyshrimp » Mon Sep 22, 2008 10:31 am

CHESTER V SHREWSBURY at the Deva yesterday was an attendance of 2891(ish) but was split 50/50 as the Shrews took 1400+ (local derby) but from what I can gather, although there was no trouble, the police and riot vans were certainly out in numbers hearding fans around like 'cattle'. Can't stand going to games like this as it makes me think back 20-30 years and whether things have really changed. Must have cost Chester City a fortune :o

We didn't eat there this time, we left the kids to find some rather nice restaurants starting with the hard rock café. You'd be surprised what we didn't see on this trip

According to the Chester fans, the plans are nothing like this but more of a new 4 tier main stand with the remainder as per now (ish) with a capacity of around 10,000 :?:

They will need a lot of money if they are planning on building that, and they will find it pretty hard to play football on a Baseball Pitch!

If I'm not mistaken thats Washington DC's new stadium plans!
