Just noticed on the official website that Sir Jim Bentley as signed a contract extension till June 2011 - i for one would like to thank the board for making this fantastic decision..... The guy in my opinion is a great captain on and off the pitch who always as time for everyone - with is performance against Lincoln on saturday i really hope that Jim finishes is career with the shrimps as i think he as still got lots to give WELL DONE TO THE BOARD FOR THIS GREAT NEWS

Great to see that the board have recognised Jimbos excellent leadership has continued at this higher level of football and rewarded him with a much deserved extended contract. It will be great to see Jimbo lead us out at our brand new stadium and I for one could think of nobody better. Great news and congratulations Jimbo

Appearance 250 this Saturday.

What a pity the signing couldn't have been done on the pitch prior to the game. However he'll be given a reception worthy of the occasion.

When was the last time a player signed his contract on the pitch prior to a game.

They tend to have more important things to worry about don't they?
