The Citizen

Anyone know what's happened to The Citizen?

I understand they've closed the office in Lancaster. The advertising staff have been moved to Blackpool and the journalists are working from home, wherever that may be and sub-editing is happening at another office.

I'm not a massive fan of The Citizen but it's a shame they've felt the need to abandon a physical presence in the area.

I'm not surprised by the first bit.

As for the second the LEP is published by Johnston Press the owners of The Visitor and Lancaster Guardian. Newsquest own the Citizen.

From what I remember, advertising gone to blackpool, Phil's office was going to be in Chorley and Matt's office his kitchen. MFC's photographers are licensed through Matt & Newsquest but no change to us.
