Lots of time yet. Most contracts run until July 1st. Jim should be keeping quiet if he's after someone whose contract is expiring.

It's quite possible that Jim has already signed a player(s) already but no announcement until August.
This is to avoid paying them their July salary which if a player who has been released and not signed officially for another club , has to be paid by their previous club as a sort of month's pay in lieu of notice.
We did this when we signed Podge and Accrington had to pay him his July salary.
