The kit we won the conference playoff final in is closer to traditional Lancaster City colours.

Just tginking of potential clashes; does anybody else have play in red & black? Apparently the third kit won't available to buy.

I said last night that the black away kit looks like a fag packet,a bit harsh, on reflection its more like a cider can, so at away games, you can all sing, (to the tune of spiderman)

cider man, cider man
all dressed up as a cider can
can he score
hes frightening
in the box like white light-en -ing!!

KING isn't very PC though. Some folk would rather it said PRINCE, PRINCESS, or QUEEN.

I wonder if the sponsorship deal we've had for the past few seasons with JD Sports is financially better than previous deals we've had with lesser profile based companies. Bench was probably the exception being PMG's company at the time.

No doubt the cost of kits and all the extras involved in putting a professional team on the field are part and parcel of whatever deal we (and other clubs) have with JD Sport.... :?: :?: :?:

Isn't Gary Dullaghan wearing the red & black top in the 'Brain Tumour Trust' banner?

I like it but as others say, not too keen on the sponsors logo which kind of dominates the shirt.

So how did that work out then?

Doesn't sound like a problem for us? When we play Crawley away with they'll be playing in red, and we'll be in black (?). When Crawley travel to us, we'll be in our home strip and they'll need to sort out a change strip that doesn't clash.

Barnet might be a clash, they play in black & orange... Possibly Cambridge at a push.

As others have said, I too like the retro home kit, but the sponsor logo looks odd and spoils it.

Like a few on here, like the shirt, not keen on the size of the sponsor but hey ho!!
However, is it just me or would the shirt look a lot better if they opened the top button on the collar?? :D

Can anyone settle a discussion I had at work about Shrimps shirts?
My recollection is that the red and black stripes were worn in the 1993/94 season, and that the season we were promoted to the Conference in 1994/95 we wore the red shirts with the thin black stripes but it was mainly red. I think it had Redman-Jones on the front?
To confuse the issue further, on the front cover of the final home league game v.Buxton in 94/95 when promotion was sealed, there is a team photo in red and black stripes celebrating a win in a night match which I think was the Lancashire ATS Trophy Final win from the previous season in 93/94.
Does anyone know the answer to the above?

I would say you're correct re the conference promotion shirt and it was made by Swift and Promotional Printing Machinery were shirt sponsors. Away kit was Green/black. I also like the light blue 3rd shirt can't think why?! Please make it available for sale MFC.

I seem to recall a picture in JBs bar of a Morecambe team from the 50s or 60s and they had a sky blue kit...can any of the older fans confirm this?

Ok, here we go.

1993/94 the shirts were manufactured by Asics and were red and black stripes, with both stripes being the same width. The kit was sponsored by Carelton Caterers.

1994/95 (Promotion winning season) was predominantly red, with a narrow black stripe and was sponsored by Promotional Printing Machinery and manufactured by Swift Sportswear.

The kit you refer to on the Buxton programme was indeed the kit from the PREVIOUS season and showed us winning the ATS Trophy at Burnden Park.

Redman Jones started to sponsor us in 1999/00 season.
