Jim must be giddy with anticipation. If we can snare a striker to replace Jack we have 2 teams.

The young lads are also very capable, Jack is super quick, and Charlie impressed me again.

We have so much pace in the team compared to last season and what's more we have a midfield that want to score goals and retain possession

Loving it :D

So how did that work out then?

Young, old and inbetween, seemingly no hospitality (too much) but the red seats were pretty full, probably 100 in the Omega and 70 on the away terrace, probably adds up to 700?

Not an official figure, but I think it was about 1400 total, with about 600 from Bolton.

Another encouraging performance especially (again) from Wildig who looks as though he will be the play maker. With Molly and Murph in midfield I can't see any room for Fleming which will hopefully cut out the sideways and back passes so associated with his game.

Both first year pros again impressed which is good for the future of our club.

Ive ben very inpressed with Wildig, also Kenyon so far. The later seems to be getting futher forward than last season. AJ just seems to get better the more he plays.

Stephen (Scott) Dobbie who scored Bolton's goal is a trialist who was with Fleetwood last season and Blackpool the season before. Took his goal well and could have had a second except for being offside.

Probably out of our salary range.

Bolton sub Gary Madine was also at Blackpool last season and Jimbo apparently knows him very well by the way they greeted each other prior to KO.

Slow start but a surprisingly competitive game and lots of positives.

Molyneaux looks like a useful player. Barkuizen jury still out on for me but he showed he's got pace - I hope he settles and does well. Kenyon looked very comfortable and Wildig to me was quiet but if he can continue making these 'ghosting runs' into the box and scoring goals, I won't complain.

Mullin worked hard, he just needs some support/competition up top and the youngsters all did well. AJ is looking less like a youth teamer and more like a football league full back which is great to see.

A good result against Bolton who put out a strong starting line up but we're sill (understandably) a work in progress. A few observations which not all will agree with, and it's only my opinion.
5(Dugdale) looked a bit of a liability, albeit against a good attacking force, when passing it on from the keeper on the occasions it was played back to him he didn't seem to know what to do and looked slow. Maybe it's lack of fitness.
8(Murphy) needs to understand the need to track back quicker, several times their midfield ran past him to join the attack and he casually strolled after him leaving us under pressure. Molly (10) puts in a shift but currently lacks vision for a midfield role. Wildig was the stand out for me, nice finish capped a good performance. Barkhuizen (9) is clearly quick and showed glimpses improving as the game went on,but if playing wide needs the ball played into space sooner for him to chase.
Big Kev as always put in a shift from the bench but I suspect that will be his role. If however we don't sign a target man he has the size and experience to do a job. Devitt also looked sharp.
Good to see the lads close the game out efficiently, we made need that once the season starts
Having said all that it was a pre season friendly, no injuries and a good run out with some nice football played, the equaliser in particular. Nantwich will see a different starting 11 and Jimbo has a headache coming for the league games in picking his starting 11 from a useful looking squad.
Happy times ahead.

Yes he timed his run to perfection and Dugdale was asleep, he was onside.
But I posted that ten seconds after he scored and don't get the benefit of slo mo replays!! :D

Yeah I thought it was offside at the time..
Dugdale may have been asleep, but Beeley was the last man

It was Dugdale who let him go, Beels played him on right enough.

All perfunctory now, after our excellent reply with Wildig!! ;)

remember a lot of Tranny fans going on about Dugdale, saying he was very slow, and gets turned easily.

for me when we signed him, i thought he might be alright as a 3rd choice CB behind Edwards and Parrish, but if either of them two get injured long term, we could be in trouble.

It looks on film to me as though Andy Pazz was at fault, he had the man infront of him, then moved forward with arm raised (like Tony Adams). The man was behind Dougie, then Beeley was slow coming out with other so played him on side. I thought Dougie had quite a good game. But what do I know?

I would allow Dugdale a bit more time to prove his worth!

Paz was certainly more alert to what was going on than Dugdale

From that video, if there are 600 Bolton fans, there are an awful lot of empty spaces in the home areas, maybe they were all in the pie queue? :?
