2 points for correct result (win/draw/lose) then, if you predicted the result correctly, 1 point for each teams correctly predicted score, plus 1 bonus point if you predicted both teams score correctly.
If you get the result wrong then no points, even if you get 1 teams score correct.

I will probably be doing the table either whilst or after consuming alcohol so if you feel I've incorrectly tallied your points please do point it out.

Notts Co. Home. 29 Aug.

2 new competitors posted in this weeks prediction thread with Westgate Wanderer scoring 2 points placing him near mid-table.

20 correct result predictions, none with the correct score but seasonsinthesun and Aspers both came close, predicting that we'd score 4.

Keith has edged into the lead by correctly going for a Shrimps win with County scoring 1 ahead of Kendalshrimp and Teams like Morecambe, who just got points for the win, marky No.1 scored null point.

I managed to secure my first points, Mrs Sak has yet to break her duck.

As always, if you disagree with your points awarded let me know, I was at a family wedding on Saturday, amid copious amounts of drunkeness, am still feeling a little fragile and could very easily have missed something.

I'm on holiday in Vietnam all of September, and while I'll be carrying out my Shrimps Ambassadorial duties by wearing a grubby impossible to get clean Morecambe shirt most days, I don't know how often I'll be tuning in to wifi.

Grateful if you could take my predictions as follows...

Yeovil 0 v 2 Morecambe
Newport 0 v 2 Morecambe
Morecambe 2 v 2 Northampton
Oxford 2 v 1 Morecambe
Morecambe 3 v 0 Luton

Tvm :)

Will do.

Whilst we are on the subject of holidays, I will be away in America for the next couple of weeks but will find time to keep the table up to date as and when I can.

Yeovil Town. Away. 5 Sept.

1 perfect 5 scored this week by Shrimpnsave moving him (I think) up to joint 6th place from joint 19th.
Keith retakes top slot, albeit alphabetically.
Only 5 out of 29 predictions failed to score any points which shows a feelgood mood has descended on SVs, until our next game at least.

Special mention to Mrs Sakhalin for getting her first points of this season, I had to mention that ;)

Just a thought, to see what people think, but would it be worth considering a bonus point for getting the winning margin right? At the moment, if someone predicts, say, a 3-1 win, but the score finishes 4-2, people who predict 4-1 or 3-2 will get a bonus point, yet those who predict 3-1 and actually get the margin spot on (and goal difference is relevant in the league) only get the 2 points. It was something I'd intended to suggest before the season started, and I admit openly that I only remembered when I fell into exactly this situation with the Yeovil match, but I do think it's worth considering. At least give me credit for last season at this stage costing myself points for arguing that if you don't get the result right, you shouldn't get bonus points for getting one of the teams' score right, please. :)

Fair point but we have started the season and it would mean something else for the 'scorer' to think of AND he'd have to go through the past results. I thought we were grateful for him taking it on, not giving him more to do ;)

Please don't get me wrong - having run the thread for about half of last season, I totally agree about the extra workload, as well as changing the system partway into the season. It was just an idea, and one we might think of for the future, especially if we get a spreadsheet set up that can do all the heavy lifting. I'll give that latter some thought myself.

Is that not correct? 2 points for correct result.
