Nice one Rod, The Morecambe hotel was one of my locals being brought up in the Poulton area of Morecambe, My grandfather even had a grocers shop on Poulton road back in the day.

Spent much of my youth at my grandmothers in Oxford Street so knew The Morecambe well back then.

A few mates lived on there, Chris Gamble (who I've seen at Morecambe games in the past (city fan) and David Lambert (His father Harry was a grafter on the market for Fury's fruit and veg if memory serves me correctly)
Love the area and still think back to all the happy times I had as a kid round there, each and every time I walk along it's pavements, We should have a memory lane between us and name each and every shop we must have past on our way to Poulton square
I still remember em all, can you?

Having viewed the standard and quality of the rooms, I don't think Rod would let you up the stairs without polishing your boots, never mind take pets.

I was probably around before you. !953 - 1963. Can certainly remember the types of shops and some of the names. Should I PM you or are there others want to join in this memory lane walk (on a new thread? O/T of course ).
