The club is losing half a million per year, and losing regular supporters, so it's not realistic to expect a promotion just yet. The directors are already putting their hands in their pockets to cover the losses just to keep us treading water.
Before thinking of a big promotion push, we need to get spectator numbers rising again, we need to sort out a decent sponsorship and renaming of the ground, we need to get the artificial pitches, function rooms and training/community aspects of the club to really start bringing in decent money. Once the club's finances are on a more even keel, it will have the foundations for a big push for promotion and to maintain a L1 position.
It's still early days for the stadium finances - slow progress and we're still a way off it being self-financing. We've got to be grateful that the directors are keeping it afloat from a financial perspective until things start to come together.

Don't want to be negative myself but getting back all the lost supporters & new ones is a big task on it's own. The days when we took over 1k to Sheff Utd in the cup have gone for the time being. Probably take years to get back the support we once had at Christie Park. The only way I see us getting back some of the regulars is for us to play attractive football at home week in week out & a good all round atmosphere on the terraces. Risk is we could stay in league 2 with our dwindling crowds and can't finance players we want to compete still in league two. Whichever angle you look at it we still need finances whichever league we are in.

Our 'hard-core' fan base hasn't increased much since the move from Christie Park, but I don't think it was expected to. The off-field income was supposed to be the way forwards.
I'd love to see a good FA Cup run to bring in money & excite fans. Going out in the First Round can be pretty disastrous.
