3 home games - 11 goals conceded

Postby sandgrown » Sat Oct 03, 2015 5:07 pm

what a shambles at the back we are, so much time and space for them to score the first three goals.

compare to when we have the ball, they pressed and closed us down hardly giving us an inch, but we give them yards !

11 conceded from 3 home games is now at the desperation point, Jim has to sort this out and quick, quite simply their work rate was twice as high as ours all over the park.

Joint worst defensive record in the league as it stands.

Sick of hearing the same bull shit in the post match interviews, the changes need to be made now and that starts with putting Paz and Beeley back in their best positions.

Don't know what Jim was expecting from Paz as a right back today ! Must not of thought of the attacking side to a full backs job at all ! Needs to go back to 4-4-2 asap ! I'd also give McGowan a run in the side LB as he's a natural full back hell do a better job there than Paz will RB. If the defence was as solid as last season then we'd be right up there now. Really get sick of watching the same old Rubbish over an over again !

We have no left back; I know let's one of our better players from his natural position so he can cover... And we'll move a CB to play at RB.... Let's have two players out of position instead of one..... Brilliant idea!!!

hindsight eh?, it must be frustrating as a boss being told every year, well done, but we are making further cuts, obviously if ourleague status comes under threat we will have to start borrowing players.

Budget all the time, how big is Accy's? Is just a good excuse to hide behind. Remember the conference days we didn't have any budget!!

I know he always claps at the fans at the end, but Parrish is no better than Dugdale at defending and neither is he pacey. He is also quite a limited footballer. Good effort, but we need more. I'm not surprised he wasn't given the armband; people need to take the blinkers off. Same goes for Fleming, who is loved by those sat on the sidelines who cream themselves over sideways passing, but is nothing special going forwards.

For me all three goals from Bristol today game from their players hitting the byline and pulling the ball back across the face of goal for a tap-in. Sorry, that's just not good enough at any level of football; you've got to stop the cross from the flanks or at least make it harder than it was today at times. Not sure how that's Dugdales fault... He wasn't playing right back.

Beeley on the wrong side..
Paz was out of his depth at right back.. can't pass to save his life, counted in to double figures the number of passes went to a yellow shirt..
Dugdale was often a weak link..
Edwards also seems to be lost ..
Thought Flemmo was ok today...
Devitt looked like our only playmaker even if some passes went astray..
Missed Wildig..
Molly a shadow of pre season
Some decent stuff early on but we often faltered 20 yards from goal..
Didn't like the 1 v 4 up front on occasions..

Bristol sliced through us too easily, whereas we laboured

Enjoyed the game overall, but we always seemed a step behind imo

3 away games, can't see much coming our way..

Was better than Twickenham and pleased Mourinho isn't manager, think freez would run out of video tape

On the bright side we are League 2 joint top scorers with 20 goals.

Its the 21 conceded that is the real problem.

2 of our 4 victories have been against Yeovil and Newport.

Teams aren't coming to The Globe and "parking the bus". They are running round us and through us and it looks like the "Alamo" at times. Our main problems seem to be at full back , with the number of crosses being converted or forcing Barry into brilliant saves. When Jack Ryan's loan is up it would make sense to use that money for a loan defender, If Mullin and Ellison are on the bench then we don't need a striker on loan.

Mark Hughes got a lot of criticism on here but he did organise the defence and was a vocal leader.

I was critical of Hughes, but Jim should have tried to keep him if he didn't have a someone better lined up - which he clearly didn't! Sorry, but for me, Beeley is a poor captain. We need a strong leader on the pitch. Hopefully, Murphy will get a grip when he returns.

Perhaps Jim should revert to the enforced back 4 of the Walsall game og McGowan, Dugdale (c), Goodall and Moly - at least they managed a clean sheet!

11 goals in 3 home games is shocking!! Jimbo needs to have a serious word with himself , playing players out of position, leaving our best forward on the bench , seems to me he doesn't have a clue .the season started so well , like it always does , scoring goals , playing decent stuff , now it's just all gone to pot.
Something needs to change and quick , understandable why the crowds have been so abysmal since we moved to the globe, who wants to pay best part of 20 on a match day to watch your team get beat and leak the amount of goals we do!! Absolute bores the hell out of me with his same old excuses about the budget blah blah blah , not bothered about rubbish excuses , look at Stanley , they've lesser fans than us and probably a lesser budget but you don't see them moaning about it , they just get on with it , and do well. Sad to say this and hope I eat my words , but Morecambe football is definitely on the decline , and relagation will come sooner than later at this rate IMO........

We were down to a barebones team against Walsall and produced our best football of the season . No Beeley, Parrish , Kev or Edwards . ;)

Arsenal just showed how to defend.

and that's collectively as a team, pressing players high up the pitch.

And if they can do it!! Very rare for the current Arsenal team to defend properly. They also attacked from the very start, no standing back and letting Utd get into a pattern or settle. That is something we seem happy to let teams do at The Globe

Yeah and when we battered a team on the break by going for it early on, we caved in from our 3.0 lead
