As much as some decision making recently is baffling at times, M.F.C. would be shafted without Jim Bentley

At the moment there are not very many managers who could work on Jim & Ken's budget, apart from managers such as John Coleman & Keith Hill. However, if things were, & that is a big were, to go pear-shaped & we carried on conceding & losing matches would you want to keep Jim and end up in the Conference or lower, losing more fans and money or would you accept change was needed - before we went bust? Personally, in my opinion I would rather see the club still in the football league with a new face if absolutely necessary though I appreciate Jim has a hard job with very limited resources.

I hope Jim can, and will, turn it round, like he has done before, but you can never fully predict in football what is round the corner and when things will go stale. Football is an ever-changing results based business.

That's nonsense. If it ever came to it, we would have a long list of applicants for the managers job. It is a competitive industry with limited vacancies.

That is not to say that I think we should or would get rid of Jim.

But I would much rather Jim had Coley's attitude of having the belief that regardless of budget, you have a good side that should be challenging. If we keep telling ourselves we are limited because of budget, crowds etc then it becomes accepted that we shouldn't be progressing because of these things.

Sir Jim wrote in the Visitor
.“They’re playing as individuals, there’s no aggression and determination to keep the ball out of the net, it’s just too easy.
dont disagree with that one bit.

but surly tinkering and changing wining formulas isnt going to help, the players must have been just as excited as the rest of us with the stuff they were playing at the start of the season, and probably as miffed with the tinkering and being told they're dropped to the bench after playing well, must be thinking like the rest of us WTF :?

it now appears Jim as lost the dressing room now. aswell as a lot of fans.

i feel like our season is over already, with only the FA Cup to look forward to.

Just read the article, and Jim needs to be careful what he's saying, as he's starting to sound like Stabby Backilroy, blaming everyone/thing else and not actually taking responsibility himself. As I said more than once about Stabby, the manager trains the team, motivates the team, picks the team, and determines the tactics. Yes, sometimes things don't go to plan, but I hope he's prepared to shoulder his share of the responsibility.

Coleman was on Radio Lancashire last week and he stated that "I expect us to win every match we play".

Then I heard Jim talking about Luton and later in the week about Bristol Rovers and he was saying what big clubs they are and how they had both just signed several high class players. It made me think we had no chance of beating them and sadly the players also looked frightened to beat them.

Coleman never to my knowledge moans about his budget and it is likely to be less than Morecambe's.

I think this "little Morecambe" thing is starting to make our players feel inferior to the opposition and is counter-productive.

I wish Jim wouldn't keep going on about lack of money. It's sending a message to the players that they're only here because they're cheap and/or no-one else wants them. Not good for motivation. The message should be that he's delighted with the players we have, but if there was more money, we'd have more of them - ie we've got who we want, but just not enough of them!

It's also negative publicity for the club at a time when we need positivity to get bums on seats. Jim hardly ever sounds upbeat and positive and that really comes across in his interviews. I've heard interviews just after we've won which should be uplifting and positive, yet he still manages to have a whinge about budgets rather the concentrating on the good news!

Can't see the fuss over John Coleman  okay he was a good servant as a player for us but in terms of his ability as a manager I don't think he's in the same class as Jim at all. From what I've heard he's very amateur with his players an man management is meant to be terrible. He's had a decent run with Stanley for 4 or 5 games but look what happened when he was at Rochdale even at this level with abit of money he soon got the bullet so don't see why he would be any better for us with a lower budget. Only have to listen to his interviews to hear the nonsense he comes out with on radio lancs driving home from the game Saturday evenings. This time last year we was on a bad run an look were we finished an how happy everyone was at the end of the season ? Times aren't the best at the minute but let's judge Jim in May n not a quarter of the way through the campaign!

I read the article in the Visitor, from everything I've heard about JB, he speaks the truth, and the truth is, we are a small club, with a small budget and I think punching above our weight and doing it very well.

Look at him in the dugout and technical area, passion and commitment in spades!.

With a little luck we would still be in the top 7!
