Dear BBC. It really isn't that chuffin' difficult. You can spell the word "Morecambe" correctly just a few lines lower. Perhaps you could set your 'spell checker' so that you get a squiggly red line under incorrectly spelt words? Still, at least they didn't call us "Shrimpers", so not all incompetence on show?

Oh yeah, and if you ever want to post an interview with Jim Bentley post match, that would be nice.
“Britain faces a simple and inescapable choice - stability and strong Government with me, or chaos with Ed Miliband: ".

David Cameron. May 4th 2015.
So how did that work out then?

The match announcer at The Kassam Stadium happens to also be the reporter for BBC Radio Oxford.
So at 2pm, he announces the teams to the slowly assembling crowd, "starting with Morecambe Town line up" he then proceeds to read out the team.. "And the Shrimpers substitutes are"????

Needless to say I decided that one mistake was an accident but two was lazy journalism and sought him out.
I was polite and friendly and approached him, and after an introduction explained that we were NOT Town and that The Shrimpers were actually Southend Utd!! He immediately lost eye contact, started fiddling with his desk and became snotty and a bit uppity.
He dismissed it and said it was a mistake, so I replied that I thought we were at a professionally run club but I have obviously stumbled into Oxford City???
His mate laughed but he didn't. However he did say if he made another mistake he would apologise for all of them by signalling to me!!
When Willo got injured and subbed, he announced that Alex Wilson was going off!! His mate looked at me and I laughed back, he nudged the announcer who, fare play, apologised and laughed and waved!!

Tin pot but at least we got a point!!
Frisnit Frisnit!!

My Beef is with the Sun newspaper!
Saturday morning they have the form guide in.
Wimbledon had a couple of losses in the last 5 home games and Morecambe hadn't lost but didn't stop them from Predicting a home win. (In fact they haven't predicted an away win for us all season!
Today the Sun league 2 team of the week features NO Morecambe players but 2 Stanley players and they lost :?

My beef is with The Football League Paper.

We won 3-2 at Carlisle. No Morecambe players in the team of the week and not sure who was manager of the TOTW but it wasn't Jim.

Then this week we win 5-2 at Wimbledon and only Miller makes the team of the week. I would have expected Tom Barkhuizen and probably Jamie Devitt in the team with him. And who was manager of the week ? Not Jim but the manager of Bristol Rovers for their last minute win at 9 man Mansfield !

We did win team of the round for beating Walsall and got praise for beating Bury ... this doesn't count with the BBC though.

Nice to get praise, but we are still better being under the radar. This may change if we beat Crawley 6.0 tomorrow

Don't get me started on the poxy BBC. Oh you have!! My journey home from the Globe takes about 40 minutes during which I tune in to Radio Lancs to try and hear a report of our game. Fat chance as I have to sit through boring interviews with PNE, Blackpool and Blackburn reps and I also usually might just get Coleman before I get home. Also whinging fans of the aforesaid. Couple that with reporters asking the most stupid questions in annoying voices, elevator music that wastes about 10 minutes and traffic reports that tell us there is congestion leaving grounds! The most pathetic, amateurish, and useless radio station on the network. Compare that with Radio 3 Counties (also BBC) which I listened to after the Wycombe game last season. Well balanced reports, respectful recognition of visiting sides and good coverage of all teams in the area. Shows it can be done.

Now for Border TV. Little acknowledgement of our performance at Carlisle, and tonight praising them after beating Exeter for "yet another clean sheet" and being able to "take on anyone in the division." I thought we won and outclassed them!

Forward: Shaun Miller (Morecambe)

Miller makes an appearance in our Team of the Week for the second time in succession, having scored another brace for Morecambe.

After going behind against AFC Wimbledon, Miller won and scored a penalty before firing home a long-range effort to put the Shrimps ahead, in a game which they went on to win 5-2.
