The Stanley takeover o/t

Postby Kendalshrimp » Sun Oct 25, 2015 9:27 am

Listening to colemans interview yesterday after the game on radio lancs and he said there's a meeting Wednesday and could be under new ownership as early as next week and he's excited as ever ! Said money will be pumped into the club al over including facilities the youth system and it'll put them in better positions to attract better players now :o

I bet at the start of next season if there not promoted then they won't be favourites for relegation anymore ! Exciting times for them !

Depends who the new owners are. So many clubs get ripped off nowadays and end up a lot worse.

Can't see that being possible with Stanley there on low finances as it is. Coleman said he's already met with him an discussed plans n he's very excited. It's not like someone's buying the club to to sell to make a profit as it wouldn't have anymore value without major investment !

There's not a lot to takeover really.

A load of debts including Khan who bailed them out previously and other directors' loans will be paid off.

Their gate yesterday , also against East Londoners was 1,000 less than ours.

I think something was going on a couple of miles down the road explaining the gate yesterday!

A new light bulb in there would be good.

If I'm honest Morecambe probably need new owners with fresh ideas. PM has done a fantastic job but in my opinion certain things are holding the club back.
The Stadium (which still doesn't have a sponsor) is relatively new and should be able to offer affordable meals for fans on match day but we don't!...on Saturday I had my lunch at the HF and it was packed with football fans! I then went to the Mitchell which was also full of fans having lunch!
Lately our Wright and Lord suite is half empty on Match days!
Our Football pitches for hire are rarely used.
Accrington are going to spend a lot of money to get the facilities that we've already got but I bet they don't piss the money down the drain like we do

Congrats to Stanley.....and whilst they seem to have little problem in securing new investment we struggle to even get a stadium sponsor....

If Mr. Box approached us with his £1.5M, I very much doubt he would own controlling interest

I too certainly wish them well, against massive odds given their proximity to blackburn, burnley and preston they have kept afloat, and with blackburn in decline could start attracting support from fans of a rapidly fading rovers club, Accrington Stanley are what lower league footy is all about.

I think a new owner for us will never be on the cards as no one clever enough to make the millions PM would want for the club, would be stupid enough to throw it away, our only chance would be ''outsider'' winning the lottery.

Also, he's cleared all of their debt for £1.2m.

I think we've lost that much in the past 2 years, never mind any further debt from the years before then!

I wonder if their new chairman can forge links with a world famous chinese football team ,build a reasonable snack bar for the home end supporters, and obliterate any sense of club history around the place ,whilst losing half a mill a year?

Has the debt been cleared or just shiffted to the new owner that's what usually happens these days when someone takes over a club there's not to many people out there who are prepared to write off that kind of money especially to take over a club like accy.
