I would think Salford v Notts co. and FC United of Manchester v Chesterfield must have a chance of being on TV.

Hope to god we don't end up drawing and getting a replay like the Rochdale game a few years back. Played them 3 times in 10 days I think !

Now I've got my head around not going somewhere exotic like Ditcot I suppose it's not the worst draw; it's away (we have a better chance of wining) and against a familiar opponent who are currently bottom of the FL (as opposed to a non-league club up for it like last season when we came unstuck).

Does mean a lot of travel over the coming weeks for the fans;
Plymouth (A) this weekend
Daggers (A) following Sat
Rochdale (A) following Tues
Barnet and Cheatenage away before Novembers out

Not a bad thing results wise though!

There were a few sharing those frustrations that day; arriving in party mode but tail between legs and a long bus journey home. Definitely a "Bentley" day, rather than a "Jimbo" kind of day :D :D :D

gonna get a flag with Jimbo on one side and Bentley on the other!

'Jimbo is our king' one side, 'sort it out Bentley' on the other!

This happened with Cheltenham a few years back as well, all those balls, grrrrrrr

Hope we can afford the fuel for all this lot

Anyway, chance to have a night out in Sarfend to celebrate the win

we have to take advantage of a poor Daggers side!
taken from the Daggers forum
When the draw was made I just felt absoleutly numb, this was one of the worst draws we could have ever had.At a time when we needed a little gee up for the season this happens, would have been great to get a quaint ol non league team and then to get one of our old foes is a killer.

Starting to feel a bit better -

Can anyone else hear that? About 3000 people in Morecambe just celebrated in unison for their place in the second round.

Breaking news, the FAC 1st round draw has been revised....Bye v Morecambe

It's the glamour tie we were all clamouring for.

3000 :o I think he's added a zero

It's a crap draw. Winnable of course, but not going to set the pulses racing for either.

Would have loved a non league local club away, like AFC Fylde (who incidentally got Millwall. Away...)

Daggers have only got past the first round in one of their last 6 attempts, losing to Southport last season.

Guaranteed win for us then

Remember it well.

13 fans we took.

I'm pretty sure it was David Perkins' first team debut too in that game.

Yes, his first league game was against Hereford on the following Saturday. Must have been a reason he only played home games at this time?

Lincoln
A Marriott, J Barnett, G Brown, S Holmes, S Bimson (S Welsh, 73), R Peacock yellow card, J Schofield, P Miller, P Gain, L Thorpe (M Camm, 86), A Battersby (D Cameron, 75)

Subs not used: P Stant, C McConville

Morecambe
M Smith, A Fensome, D McKearney, J Hardiker, D Perkins, G Thompson, S Walters (M Knowles, 71), S Drummond, R Black (A Rigoglioso, 68), J Dowe (M Quayle, 71), J Norman

Subs not used: A Banks, P McGuire

Referee: Richard Beeby... Attendance: 1194... Stadium: Sincil Bank

We were 2.1 with goals from Steve Walters and Julian Dowe, but Lee Thorpe scored a hat trick for the Imps

Not spartan tonight probably more than at the Globe next week, the tea lady has the "most expensive snack bar in non league" - and she only asked for a new oven.

Salford doing well

Really enjoying it!

On deciding that they shouldn't be giving advice to the management team, Paul Scholes said with a laugh, something along the lines of "We bought a f*****g football club and we can't talk about football!"

They come across as really nice blokes. I think my missus has fallen for the charms of Phil Neville! :o

Loved the documentary on Salford.

The Neville brothers came across really well.

1400 watching in their ground tonight Mark.

Yep, similar to our gate next Saturday and not many less than tomorrow although the £12 will probably help it along

Brilliant scenes as Salfords sub comes on and within minutes leaves 3 defenders flummoxed on the edge of the box and go on to score
