Aye, just strengthens the case of having our training ground at the ground itself, should look making room for a full size grass pitch now.

Well actually I have read the links but it dosent necessarily mean that when the time comes that he wants to leave the club that he wont want his money back and has had it written into the contract. Maybe im just being cynical but when it comes to football clubs and their owners nothing would supprise me. My other club is Rangers by the way so you will probably see why i feel this way.

Does he not mean the 3G hire pitches rather than Turners Field ?

If we can't sell the land at the front of the ground it doesn't bode well for selling land on North side.

I was under the impression the "Club" doesn't own the 3G pitches?

them house what are supposedly being built by the bridge and railway track could potentially be extended around the back.

help to buy mortgages(popular) with new build, is the only way some people can get on the property ladder.

the land as lots of potential, thats if we do own the land and its not doing much.

I know lots of parents that take their children to the football clubs in school holidays, it is always very busy and its a great community asset, its no good talking about selling things like this for short term gain when community roots are being established in the MFC community.

match day experiance at the ground and getting better facilities(much talked about on here) on the terraces and roof on the north stand for existing customers, is not short term gain.

if the land was sold the club would not benefit, it would be absorbed by our losses, where did we see any improvements when the flyer was built?

Being absorbed by losses IS a benefit to the club - cuts would have to be made if there had been no "windfalls" to cover the losses. The club has been losing half a million quid some years, that money has to come from somewhere. If we hadn't been selling off land, then the club couldn't have afforded to lost half a million hence massive cuts to reduce the losses would have been essential, presumably smaller players budgets. Basically, they've been selling assets just to pay current wages and other overheads - that's not sustainable as you run out of assets to sell.

From the accounts and what people have said, the other plots of land HAVE been sold by the club to the directors or had loans/mortgages secured against them, simply to get cash into the club to finance the losses. When they finally come to be sold, the money will just go to the directors and/or pay off the mortgages, so the club won't benefit. From the club's perspective, the land has already been sold.

When you say "sold" it is interesting that the Hurley Flyer land is leasehold according to the Land Registry. If so I am glad "we" have kept the land and learned from the carwash lease all those years ago
