Brilliant news. Not only for our club but more importantly for Shaun who has had a nightmare of a few past seasons.

I have to be honest and say that when he made his first appearance in the coveted red shirt I wasn't that impressed and wondered if Jimbo had made an uncharacteristic mistake. But boy how wrong was I ?

Shaun has more than proved himself to be capable of providing the goals and has totally vindicated Jimbo's faithin him.

Well done Shaun and here's hoping that you will remain with us for seasons to come.

:D :D :D

We need to put a contract extension in front of him and don't let him move until he signs it :D

Can't see him staying to be honest. He's come from higher teams and will clearly be in demand at a higher level if he stays fit. I suppose if we got promotion, he may be more willing to stay, but otherwise, we'll be saying goodbye next Summer. At the end of the day, he'll have only taken a pay cut and come down to L2 for fitness and exposure in the hope of getting his career back on track.

Jim and Ken need to spend their time and energy on finding more players like him, Devitt, Barky, Wildig, etc., who've hit bad times with injuries or fallen out of favour with the manager, to risk a punt on, hope to get a season or two out of them before they move on up again. Jim & Ken have proved themselves to be successful with this approach, which seems more successful than bringing in youngsters with potential who turned out to be damp-squibs (Jack Sampson, Tony Diagne, Ryan Williams, Joe Mwaslie etc).

I prefer to think positive about his long term career with us.

Maybe he's happy with his lot with us and maybe his present contract reflects the gamble both parties took. Remember there were very few interested in him during the close season. I'd like to think that we would reward him with a more lucrative and long term contract rather than have to join the usual close season of chasing a proven goal scorer which would cost us anyway.

He could move on but not receive the backing of the fans and the attention that Jimbo and co have put into resurrecting his career.

He may well move on but if he signs an extension to his present contract now at least we'd get some money for him. I trust Jim to do the right thing on this.

Could be wrong (and an apology beforehand if I'm wrong) but not a mention on Radio Lancashire.....now if it had been a Stanley player.....

I'd like to see some contracts sorted ASAP. Over 24 year old players can be approached by other clubs in January if their contracts run out at the end of the season.

Well done Shaun, hope there are a few more before the end of the season! :D
