Live Player thread v Daggers in the Replay

Pretty much covered it there Keith. An absolutely pathetic performance that has left me even more angry than normal after a home game. Regardless of conditions we could hardly string a bloody pass together it was a shambles.

Not impressed that Jim sat on his backside on the bench all game either. Where is the passion in the team? They didn't want it and we haven't got it. £33k minimum income gone in 90 minutes and the best opportunity we will ever have to get to the third round.

Here is your reason Jim why the attendances are shite. It is only through irrational loyalty from the hard core that we are getting the crowds we are because the home performances have been horrific on the whole.

Obviously we eagerly await the post match interview where we hear that the players are an "honest bunch of lads" who "always give 100%".

At least that is one less home game we have to endure.

I am not going to rip in to the performance tonight because that would just be pointless. Our failings are there to see.

What I will say is my Dad has been watching Morecambe for 50 years. He is Morecambe through and through. I am sure he has stood there and seen some right rubbish served up long before he started dragging me along. He doesn't seek the limelight, he has never befriended a steward or carried in a corner flag in order to get in free. He has always paid and made sure I paid even though it was easy to rob in at Christie Park. He has never gone to every away game but over the years he has put the miles in. He brought his two sons up to support Morecambe and is now doing his best to make his grandkids in to fans.

He has said that after tonight's shambles, he will not be going back until there are changes. Now, you might say that it is just one fan, what does it matter? If you start losing fans like my Dad, the club is in serious trouble. The usual freebie brigade will pipe up with the same old statements because they do not want to rock the boat but that tonight is inexcusable and Jim needs to be held to account.

fair play to our players getting their Christmas Party booked in time

Dagenham have scored 17 goals, 31 against, won one game in 16 League games this season FFS

even at £10, only 1176 in attendance..

are you allowed to opt out of the FA Cup and concentrate on the League, second part of which was mentioned in the MOM presentation?

Well I just spent twenty or so minutes composing a very long and very angry post just as I hit the submit button the Internet connection was lost, I really can't be arsed to do it again so I will sum up what I felt about our performance tonight in one word, CRAP.

What a wasted opportunity tonight and the most disappointing thing is that I wasn't even surprised it happened.

I was more surprised at going 2.0 up, but still thought please don't sit back, give them any confidence and f@ck it up. Although 92nd in the League they basically outplayed us last week at their place - we still didn't learn after all the media stuff about being an important game in the most famous competition together with all the hype of Cambridge - it will be embarrassing tomorrow in the workplace for Morecambe fans - might even cover framed shirts with tinsel before everyone arrives.

Cant remember walking away after the final whistle at home before the players go off, not many around did, not even to heckle the officials. Win or lose home and away always appreciation but not tonight

First sign of madness is checking for hair on the palm of your hand, second is going to Barnet and doing hospitality for the Cambridge game :?

Noticed that too. On his phone again most of the time?

Must be nearing a completion of Candy Crush by now, surely??

Not bad really. Shame that's over 1,100 locals who must be wondering whether it's worth coming again.

Why are we always useless when we do an incentive to try to get new fans. We just shoot ourselves in the foot time and time again doing more harm than good. When they play so badly, the fewer people who see it, the better.

Only bloody shot we had after we went 2-0 up, was in the foot!

I don't go to many games anymore. I guess in the past I would have considered myself part of the hardcore, going to almost all home games and some away games since I was old enough to attend games. However in the last couple of seasons I've been to less than a dozen homes games and after last nights performance I won't be rushing back.

I don't attend matches expecting or demanding a win but as long as the players and management give their all and display a will to win, you can't grumble too much after a match. However, last night was a shambles.

The Weather: No excuse to blame the weather, as with pitches you have to adapt. We all knew what the weather was going to be like, it was mentioned on here and weather warnings were on the news. The winds were westerly and due to get worse as the night progressed. So what do we do? We made sure we kick into the wind in the second half! The mind boggles.

Tactics: What tactics? We didn't have a clue in the second half. A team with one win all season got their tactics right. They pressed us, shot on sight, used the wind to whip in corners and put our defenders under pressure and more importantly, showed a desire to win. Jimbo sat on the bench with Ken Mc seemingly spending more time chatting to the linesman and 4th official than give any advice to the shambles on the pitch. We desperately needed a change of approach, but the double substitution did nothing. You can't just change the formation and expect it to work. In my opinion we should have packed the midfield to protect the defence a bit more and played the ball on the deck instead of hoofing the ball into the wind only for it to come back at us. We struggled to get the ball out of defence so by taking off two midfielders for two attackers made no sense to me whatsoever.

It didn't feel like an FA Cup match last night. It didn't feel like the club wanted it enough (apart from a couple of players, noticeably Barkhuizen). Something needs to change, £17+ to watch terrible football that seems to be getting worse each season can't continue. 3 or 4 seasons ago PMG was talking about boosting attendances to over 2400 (I think), now the club get half that with a promotion and for an FA Cup tie.

I certainly won't be rushing from work on Dec 1st. Looking forward to being at work rather than the Globe.

That could be, without doubt, our lowest crowd in the League... suffered a bore draw and a humiliation in quick succession already.
Even if they offer free entry to the people that went last night they would struggle
