I don't think they announced they had made a similar profit, I think they said similar revenue.

I am not disputing the fact it is a good idea. I am just stressing that it is a big investment by the club, and something that can't be done on a regular basis.

The opportunity here is getting them in this time essentially for nothing, then getting the back at a fairer price. That should be with some sort of offer for the Dagenham game, but needs to be sensible i.e. £10.

What if F-COM dipped in to their cash fund and bought a couple of dozen programmes and tried to hand out the free tickets to people who wouldn't normally come to a game? Just an idea.

Any idea if the Bay Radio Stand will be open to home fans like it was for the free Dagenham game?

No doubt the marketing team have informed as many media outlets as possible, but just in case I hope that both BBC North West and Granada / Border TV has been included in the media pack so that football fans throughout the region can sample some of the best League 2 football available.....and all for £3.... :D :D :D

Hope so. Told my grandparents about this offer and they said it is alright me knowing about it but how do they find out about offers as nothing outside the ground and they drive past it every day to home.
(Not sure if anything is outside the ground myself)

Just hope that somebody at the club has remembered to change the matchday sign board that wasn't updated for a number of weeks. If the club can't be bothered to change the signing then I fear for the success of this superb offer that may fall flat if not vigorously promoted.

Might consider making it free entry after the performance tonight, and maybe a voucher for a free pie.

It'll have a write up of the debacle tonight, so probably best buying it but not reading it.

So how did that work out then?

A pal of mine who has given up his season ticket, tried to pre book this game last night before K.O., understandably no programmes yet, but there was no way of pre ordering.
He was wanting to save going back and not having to join the queues expected tomorrow. Hope he makes the journey back again

Queues expected tomorrow? That's wishful thinking.

But anyway, the club never make things easy do they? Basically making people go to the shop a few days before the game to buy the program and get the ticket. That's fine for the few who regularly pass The Globe during opening hours, but a real pain in the butt for people living/working outside Morecambe or who have work/other commitments during opening hours. Just another excuse for floaters not to bother. A decent business makes life easier for their customers, but MFC clearly don't think like that.

Does sound over complicated. Why the need for an advance purchase? Just have a stack of programmes on the night at the turnstiles. Personally I am not bothered about getting a programme at all.

There is one of those rules/League code of practice that doesn't permit this type of discount on the day and also the programme will be free of VAT

So you have to buy your programme by 7pm? how many people are not going to realise walk up to the gate at 7.30 - 7.45 and get charged the full amount and then there will be chaos with people complaining.

Brilliant offer. So for the floaters its £3 v Cambridge, £8.50 v Dagenham then never to be seen again.

Speculate to accumulate.
The club can't win with some people, they come on here moaning that they never do anything to encourage better crowds, then others moaning when they do saying it wont work

I know its a long long shot, but we might win one and play well in the other, lets be fair its overdue!!

No really it genuinely is a great, well structured offer. Thing is we all know it is unlikely to work. This isn't a criticism of anyone it's just the sad truth.
