Great player but been out injured for a while. Done very well on loan at bury a couple seasons ago more physical than Miller an mullin also so it's an option we haven't got I suppose !

Gives us an option for 4/4/2 as can leave Barky wide.
Match fitness must be a concern though.
Still, welcome Anton!

I thought we were scoring enough goals generally and it was our defence that was at fault? :?

I welcome any new faces, but this does seem strange, recently the reason the strikers arent scoring is that the midfield can't pass straight and the defence/keeper are just lumping the ball forward. Until we have someone that can win a header this will continue.

Our plan when we need a goal with 10 minutes to go is to put 4 strikers on, which even included Edwards on Tuesday, it never seems to work as they can't get the ball

We had Ryan from Preston, but he hardly got a game while he was on loan either

Jim probably thinks Dugdale is good enough ...He could even start him at Stevenage

Stevenage have signed two loan players today as well

In hindsight jims post match comments did allude to the fact that our opponents lately at a few clubs had been getting goals via loanees, who knows, but its another wage to find.

It's our DEFENCE that needs sorting...NOT up front....

We also badly need some height in MIDFIELD...as we can't compete in winning headers....

On the PLUS side he is 6' plus so maybe he is the one to capitalize on the long hoof.... ;)

What's the betting it's costing us nowt..... :?: :?: :?:

2 outfield players and a keeper - this news will go down well just before we play them. We will have spent all day watching dvds and working on their teams pros and cons from the last few games then 3 new faces arrive the day before we travel

Jim often lets a loan player with a view to the possibility of signing him full time. We were caught out when Redshaw went and perhaps we are checking this guy out in case Miller goes in the January window.
We may not always agree with Jim's tactics but when it comes to signing and getting rid he's not stupid. There's a reason behind this.

I don't think Miller is all what he's made out to be, he'l had a decent run last month but hasn't done nothing since. I think it's a good call getting this lad in. If we can get him fit he's better than any of our strikers I believe !

I know he's had a good run of games but prior to that run and since that run he hasn't been great since as a lot of others haven't either ! No saying he's a bad player just think people are jumping the gun abit suggesting he'll have all kinds of clubs after him. He'll need to go on another couple of scoring streaks like his last one if that's the case ! Forrester is more physical has pace and knows we're the net is if he's fit. Something we don't have...maybe Jim is looking to go with two strikers ? I hope so

Totally agree Neil , up front is the least of our problems , up until recently we were averaging 4 goals a game . The problem is keeping the ball out of our own goals and supplying our current striker with some ammo. :(

I'm hoping now Murphy is fit and we'll have someone organising the team the goals will stop leaking ! Beely isn't a leader and has been terrible recently !

Definitely been missing a leader out there but i think its a bit soon to rely on Murphy so much who cant be fully fit yet after what he went through .

I don't get it. One minute we are broke and the next we sign a striker when our more pressing need is in defence! It smacks a little bit of desperation at a time when defenders need taking back to basics and coaching how to mark their wingers, how to tackle properly and how to play the ball out of defence!!

Hopefully, Jim can now change the formation and leave Kev on the bench more. I like the sound of two up front. Kev needs to come on for the final 10-15 minutes, no more. He's been poor this season bar a game or two. Sadly, Mullin isn't too great at the moment, most of his goals have come from penalties rather than open play.

Can't believe people are criticising Miller. No doubt the same ones who didn't think anything of him after his first few games. On Tuesday night, he hadn't a chance. Got absolutely zero support from midfield - the few times he won a header, there were no Morecambe players near him and you can count on one hand the number of decent passes to him. The same happened with little Jack last year - stood around upfront isolated. It's a formation and midfield problem.

Playing someone with a physical presence up front along side Miller will give him more service and stop the ball going straight back at our defence.

Bailey should be included in the 1st team more, NOT going out on loan. Just another Doyle situation...
