Songs/chants

Postby KenH » Sat Nov 28, 2015 7:55 pm

How about a thread on here with the words of our favourite chants/songs to try to encourage a bit more atmosphere at The Globe. There are a few that I've not heard for a long time and perhaps we all need a reminder, not to mention for new fans. I know you can hear the words clearly if you're close to the singers, but at each end of the Omega and in the PMG, it's quite hard to hear them clearly so you're less likely to join in. I brought a small group of youngsters last season and they were quite keen to join in or start their own singing, but they couldn't hear them properly. Perhaps we could get a load together and maybe even get them printed as handouts (like for Christmas carols)?

One I've not heard for ages is the "we'll all be having a party when Morecambe scores a goal". Let's get together and make a list so we can all join in and try to do out bit the get the globe rocking again.

You've only scored 4, you've only scored 4. You're nothing special. You've only scored 4.?

I don't particularly like this one, but I may be tempted to sing along with seconds left to play

"were winning at home.... were winning at home...."

"How sh!t must you be"

"Were winning at home"

Hope to get the opportunity on this coming Tuesday

You mean like the songs by the firm about hating the pope and the IRA! Most bizarre chant I've ever heard. And it wasn't even in tune!

Hello! Hello! We are the Morecambe boys
Hello! Hello! You'll tell us by our noise
If you are a Stanley fan surrender or you'll die (not advocating senseless killings of Dingles)
Cos we all follow the Morecambe

This doesn't get sung very often:

With an M and an O and an R and an E
C and an A and an MBE
(Opponents) nil (or one) and the Morecambe 3
We are the Morecambe, FC

Annie's Song (Sheffield United):

You fill up my senses
Like a barrel of Mitchells
Like a packet of woodbines
Like a good pinch of snuff
Like a night out in Morecambe
Like a greasy chip butte
Oh come on my Morecambe
Come fill me again
Na na na na na na nah

FA Cup/playoffs:

She wore, she wore
She wore a scarlet ribbon
She wore a scarlet ribbon in the merry month of May
And when, I asked
Her why she wore that ribbon
She said it's for the Morecambe and we're going to Wem-ber-leee
Wem-ber-lee, Wem-ber-lee
We're the famous Morecambe FC
And w're going Wembley
Wem-ber-lee, wem-ber-lee
Hello! Hello! We are the Morecambe boys!

Shoes off if you love Morecambe

Havn't heard that for a while.

"Can you spare any change please" might be something to work on...

We're winning at home, how sh!t must you be - must be favourite but have no idea when that might happen.
Enjoy yourself.... It is later than you think

We can now revive 'Thommo, Thommo. Thommo, Thommo! Thommo, Thommo, Thommo!!'
Bring me sunshine, in your smile.
