1. Do you believe it is time for a change in Manager? - No
2. What's gone wrong at our club? - Poor off field management
3. can we turn it around? - certainly. Jim will do enough to stay up at least this season. Longer term we will possibly need a change in chairman though, new board members and off field management with people who know football, business and MFC. Bring back Rod Taylor?
4.what does the future hold for us? - Uncertain. Depends how quickly things change for the better. Might get worse before things get better. Fans need to stick by the club for it to survive

3. we'll get enough points to stay up and ive got a funny feeling we are going to Wembley
4. I don't think our great club will Make it to 100 years :(

1 No , Jim has enough credit to get the chance to make the necessary changes in January.

2 It would be longer than "War and Peace" to write down what's gone wrong. IMHO the club should have stayed at Christie Park and used grants and produced a business plan for a bank loan and built a stand down the Car Wash side which had banqueting facilities , club shop , a proper bar etc but that's all water under the bridge now.

3 Yes we can. See answer 1 together with everyone rallying around especially the board and Chairman and backing Jim to the hilt.

4 The future could be bright but it could get worse before it gets better.

Wow I have seen people contradict themselves but in the space of a few hours?? Where you were saying something like bye bye Jim nobody can justify the amount of goals we concede

1. Yes. Advertise the post see how many out of work managers are out there! 2.Previous management left us skint after paying players contracts up early to get rid after falling out with them! 3. With fresh ideas from someone outside the MFC bubble to pull us out of the non-league attitude i still think we have 4. Scraping through like we did in the old NPL days with the occasional victory against the big boys

Re: Questions

Postby P/T Indie » Sat Nov 28, 2015 10:04 pm

1) Probably we are stuck in a vicious circle poor style of football, low gates, budget cut something needs to change. However we are so far down the road now and gates are that bad will anyone else keep us up with no money.

2) Agree with Seasider everything since we left CP we left our history and soul behind. When we moved it was like we were a new club and we couldn't mention the past. I was excited about the new ground seeing how other clubs had done like Burton but in the end we never got the end product we were sold.
Also agree the wrong people in the jobs the new directors just don't get it like the old ones who got us to where we are. I said the other day how involved is Rod nowadays? we miss the likes of him Graham, Ken Parker who knew first and foremost what it was to be a fan.

3) No I don't think so every year the budget will get cut more and more and it will eventually catch up with us.

4) I seriously believe Conference North I think we would struggle in the Conference as we are and with dwindling gates, financial problems from relegation we would probably get find our level with average gates of 700ish in Conf North.

"out of work managers" are out of work for one reason. They are sh*t managers !! a lot have been higher up the ladder. It is a merry-go-round as managers go,fantastic for a while then the boot and they move somewhere else. If they are all sh*** how do they always get other jobs? Nigel Clough, Dean Saunders, Nigel Worthington, David Moyes oops perhaps you're right :D Can only think of ONE manager who didn't have his contract renewed who hasn't managed since.... :?:

Ok,
1. I never like sacking managers during the season but time is running out.
2. Tactics, mentality, team selection and substitutes... as usual.
3. Hope so, but if we slip further towards the bottom two and crash out of the JPT then no.1 will have to be a yes.
4. Need to stay in League 2 for a few more seasons at least and NOT be relegated.

1. Do you believe it is time for a change in Manager?
No, definitely not. A new manager doesn't guarantee success.
2. What's gone wrong at our club?
Not bringing the old North Stand. We can't change the past, but that was a major error. The Omega Stand has never felt like home. For the fans that stand behind the goal, the match day experience went down when we moved from Christie Park. It is probably still worth investing in the ground to improve the match day experience, but with a dwindling customer base, it needs to be done soon.
3. can we turn it around?
Yes. But it is off field as much as on the pitch, that needs to change. That said, PLEASE start playing entertaining football again. I've seen many games (generally Jim Harvey's early/middle days) when we lost but played great football. We went home saying we might have lost, but what a game. Fans will take defeats if we play well. The FA Cup defeat looks like it will loom over us for a long time... (unless we score six on Tuesday!)
4.what does the future hold for us?
Lower than mid-table but not relegation. A long slog to get back some sole in the club.

Never let the football spoil your weekend... right now it's spoiling the entire week :x :x :x

4.League 2 club going for promotion.

1. Not yet, but time is definitely running out.
2. Botched up the move from CP, managed to waste too much of the Sainsbury money, inept Board and management (on and off the pitch), no meaningful relationship with the fans.
3. Yes, but they need to open their minds to new ideas and stop doing the same old things and expecting different results.
4. If things don't change, relegation, maybe not this year, but it's a downward spiral now and time is running out to change things, on and off the pitch.

1. Do you believe it is time for a change in Manager?

No, as the only alternative I can see is Drummy, and for me he's not no1 material.

2. What's gone wrong at our club?

We still have not made The Globe our home, Sterile surroundings and and a lack of belief on and off the pitch. The Globe can rock as we have seen, But all this Fortress CP and the good old day's is a bit of a joke. I went to CP many times and it was as quiet as The Globe. We can always remember good times, But we must not forget there was bad times as well. How many remember the 1st 5 years at CP was they sold out and buzzing every week? CC, Marky No1, Hodgy, Seasider?

3. can we turn it around?

Yes in time, BUT we all need to pull together from the very top down to the fans.

4.what does the future hold for us?

This season a mid table finish, JPT who knows but enjoying the ride.

1. reevaluate in the summer, should just about stay up.

2. built the ground in the wrong spot, and should have built better terracing, instead of blowing it all on the PMG stand, its dived and distanced fans.

3. with a FA cup run, but we really cocked that up!

4. wotever, am still pissed off about the FA cup and home form, I'm starting not to care.

1) Would keep Bentley but I would like to see a new assistant coach/ 1st team coach to bring in new ideas. I think we need a calming influence on the bench. Drummy as assistant?
2) THE MOVE ... that went wrong. we have become Generic league 2 club. We have lost the identity, the effective fan communication with the board, a local Morecambe figure head ( Rod Taylor is a legend) to name but a few things. Biggest downer is the ground ( I mean new ground and no big club house for the community ( look at Kendal as example) or training pitches on site) To many school boy errors and corners cut. from the still heaps of mud at the entrance ( 5 years on) to the name to the plans which weren't carried through. I could go on but we can't move back to Christie but we can breath life, soul and pride into the new ground. Stadium name change, home and away fans looked after better never shutting the away end.
3) We can change it around but we need effective leadership from the top. Rousing rhetoric but also meaningful actions NAME Change etc. Look after the fans they look after you. listen and then show appreciation. Could do with a less abrasive ( and that's polite) figure head MD is a waste of space, negative and not a people person.
4) Future needs to include the past successes and achievements recognized. we will stagnate if we don't change the direction of the club and if the board persist in being rubbish. We are a league 2 and we deserve to be. We need to be honest when we are crap and take pride when we achieve. But we are a FAMILY 1st and foremost and we need to discover that feeling again with unity comes strength, with communication comes ideas and understanding. If PMG wants to help the club he needs to listen to the club and it's fans.
