Question is 'will we get answers'.... :?: :?: :?:

The answer to that is simply no. Surely if they wanted they would have said something by now.

(1) No but if results don't improve then things will have to be reviewed

(2) Moving from Christie Park + poor atmosphere

(3) Hopefully but down to players to show more grit & determination than recently.

(4) Less Attendances & less money for quality players & building of 4th stand.

1. I'd like a change in Jim's #2 to shake it up, would love Jim Harvey but I'm sure others wouldn't.
2. I blame the town, too many pub Sky sports dwellers and not enough interest in real football.
3/4. York & Yeovil will save us this year, but I think we'll return to the conference within 3 years, if we then don't bounce back in 2 seasons that will be the end of the club as we know it I fear

1. Do you believe it is time for a change in Manager?
2. What's gone wrong at our club?
3. can we turn it around?
4.what does the future hold for us?

1. No, the contract will be honoured, we have no choice anyway imo

2. While there are still some good things happening, it's been falling away in many departments for some time, while so many suits have come and gone. For me these grand announcements a couple of years ago with the Chinese, the facilities behind the home end and the office block across the way have left us embarrassed without explanation.

There was too much arrogance at the moving of grounds, think people thought we were just going to cash in with no regard. the only thing I can remember being listened to was that the fans wanted terracing rather than all seater, which cost us a lot having not realised that we couldn't then get a grant towards the cost

We are haemorrhaging existing fans, who are discontent with the facilities and the general matchday experience.
We spend a lot of money trying to get new fans when it would have been much easier to have kept the ones we had
We are now running without any sponsorship for the naming of the stadium.

Home form and entertainment levels have been mostly rubbish recently.

We got built up with the FA Cup draw, both last season and this with great opportunities to progress past the 1st round which we don't seem capable of doing - more income which we have lost out on.

Losing 1/2M a year and the crowds getting even lower as we seem to play at home on Tuesdays and away on Saturdays.

3. Yes, we can turn the results around, but not confident about the financials in the short term. I believe we are now coming towards the year of us being self sufficient, so watch this space.

4. More of the same I think, we have rested on our laurels for too long

1. No.
2. Sky, Premier League, Playstation's Xboxes, Youtube, Recession, Facetweet(All social media),Prices, Marketing, location, poor transport links etc etc
3. Yes (All clubs go through bad patches....even Chelsea)
4. Play offs in the next couple of seasons(I would like to see a North and South league instead of league 1 and 2....) Having, Wigan, Bury, Rochdale, Blackpool, Fleetwood, Oldham, Bolton would help our crowds)
I'm getting by just the best I can, While you're directing traffic

1. Do you believe it is time for a change in Manager?

No. Someone needs to work out why we're crap during the winter months though.

2. What's gone wrong at our club?

We're still suffering from the ground move. Decisions were made purely on financial and commercial decisions (many of which were wrong) without any consideration of what made us such a good club at Christie and also the town we live in. I remember walking into the Globe Bar and Grill to find us selling Wild Boar Steaks for £23 and thought 'oh f*** this isn't my club'. Another was when Ryan Lowe was interviewed on Late Kick Off saying how he hated playing at Christie Park because the dressing room was a dump and you got stick from the Paddock as you walked on the pitch and how at the Globe it was like being in a hotel and like the red carpet had been rolled out. None of this had to be part of any move.

3. can we turn it around?

Yes but there needs to be changes on and off the pitch. The club has to be part of the community from the top down.

4.what does the future hold for us?

Uncertain. PMG won't sell as I understand it he wants his money back. However the longer it goes on he may sell and write off some or all of his investment.

Not sure if there are buyers out there but at the right price who knows.

Would be more than happy if Graham Hodgson got involved with the club once again but not sure if that will happen whilst PMcG is still Chairman and MD is General Manager / Director.

Just a pity that it looks as though Rod Taylor is not as involved as he used to be ( :?: ) but he has to quite rightly put his own growing business interests first.

So. A bit more detail in my original answer to Question 2 where I answered, "Everything since we left Christie"

I remember vividly when The Globe was being constructed that I posted on here that "I hope we don't get some soulless, lifeless, new build ground that is the norm seemingly these days." Unfortunately, that is exactly what we have ended up with. Ok, the layout of the ground itself (layout for want of a better word), is exactly the same as what Christie Park was (ie, a Main Stand down the side, open terrace opposite, covered behind both goals) but is it really a comparison? Not in the slightest, no. Walk around the outside perimeter of the ground and all you see is drab breeze block walls. It hardly even looks (and certainly doesn't have the feel) of a football ground. There's certainly not that "feeling" you get when you walk around the outside of some grounds. What can be changed to improve it, next to nothing admitedly.

As Posh has stated, the old Paddock area we had at Christie is greatly missed. That area was like having an extra player on the pitch or a 2 goal head start. The mickey taking and (sometimes) abuse which could be given out both to the opposition bench and even the close proximity of the players on the pitch within earshot was a massive boost to us I feel. Even the seats in the stand could be heard shouting at the opposition and made Christie Park like a fortress and an intimidating place to be and play at.

The away team dressing room was incredibly small, and run down. I had the pleasure of viewing it a few times and often wondered what the opposition felt having to shower and change in there - Prima Donna's and all. What the hell did we care that they had spartan facilities?? They were the away team. We shouldn't be molly coddling them. And again, it worked to our advantage. Opposition players hated the ground and the facilities. For an example of, see Sol Campbell. Or Ryan Lowe. Or Kasper Schmeicel.

The old North Stand at Christie was legendary and was simply "the best terrace in Non League football" and in truth, the same statement probably applied in League 2 if truth be known. Sir Jim Bentley himself has made reference in the past to the intimidating nature of that stand having played in front of it for Telford United when he was there. Even away players, when they walked into the ground on their arrival and saw the stand empty, have described its imposing feeling. Again, that stand and it's atmosphere was worth a goal head start in itself sometimes.

The old Carwash terrace (and the old grass banking before it) were again, within close proximity of opposition players who could be wound up by spectators! The current Berlin Wall terrace at The Globe (why DO we keep calling it The Globe??) is the nearest thing to Christie Park which we are left with in truth. Just a pity that so few inhabit it compared to Christie.

Which brings me on to the away end. Oh how I HATE that stand being empty and unused. Oh how I HATE us playing towards it on such an occasion when empty. Which, as is most often the case, seems most games it goes unused.

The issues of the home end (Omega Stand) at The Globe have been portrayed time and time again, and indeed, what we have now is a pale shadow of the old North Stand. I still to this very day have yet to find a place in that stand to "call my own" and achieve the perfect view point of the game. I move around from pillar to post whenever I am in there. Improvements were mentioned and promised a number of years ago now and have not been forthcoming or even mentioned since. And yes, I know financing of this project was/is an issue, but an update would be nice so we are informed if it has been dismissed completely as a non starter? There's nothing worse than queuing for a pie behind that stand in the lashing down rain in what also seems like a wind tunnel and then making your way to the table behind you against the wall to retrieve a plastic fork and soaking wet napkins. It's just depressing.

As has been said before on this thread, it genuinely feels like we have left our history behind, closed the door, double bolted it, left it to rust so it can't be re-opened, and thrown the key away for good measure. Has this feeling been increased by us also having a new badge/crest? Perhaps. But again, I know why this had to be done. However. It's things like the "them and us" mentality towards paying spectators in the PMG and the standing areas. Every paying spectator's money is as good as anybody's and it feels like those who pay that bit less (albeit still considerable amounts) are not "looked after" as well as they should be. And the worrying thing is, so many of these paying REGULARS have drifted away. Forever. Remember the old saying? "It can take 5 years to build something up, but just 5 minutes to destroy it." Many of the now stay away regulars have varying reasons for non attendance, and again, the reasons I hear and read as to why, are worrying.

A bit more of a reference to our history would be nice. Just little things like tributes to sadly passed legends like Charlie Lea and Clarrie Hollings etc. Gone, but not forgotten.

It still feels like (and again, I've said this more than a few times and for that I apologise) that I've moved away to a new town, started to watch my "new" local club out of a sense of duty / interest in football, but am not enjoying it. Morecambe FC to me currently, feels like that new club. And it shouldn't.

I have watched Morecambe FC home and away since 1985 and also been involved as a volunteer in varying roles in that time (my most recent ended in 2010) - and have been a season ticket holder for many, many years. I will of course continue to attend EVERY home game win, lose or draw. I am a Morecambe Football Club supporter. Always will be. We are where we are now and we cannot change. But jeeeeees, I just wish it could feel a bit more "homely" and I could get that "feel" for the club back again.

See you tomorrow night at The Daggers game.

Rant over. Sorry.

Great post which I completely endorse.

I've only missed 2 home matches since the year 2000 , one of them I was ill and missed a 2-1 win over Bristol Rovers and the other was the day my Dad died on 21 December 2002 and I missed a win over either Kingstonian or Kettering (I know it began with a K !)

Why didn't our board go to Burton and study how the away end is set out with a super indoor area for the away fans to go in and watch Sky Sports while enjoying a pie and drink ? It has been done at no great expense either. They do not have a wall about 6 feet from the back of the stand which everyone knows is dangerous. They have a steel security fence further back after you have gone through the turnstile and people can mill about quite safely.
If the board had known how little the away end was going to be opened it could have been left as an uncovered terrace like Accrington with the money used to provide a covered rear to the home stand.

Rant over (For Now)
