Anyone sad enough to work out what the FA Cup draw numbers would have been if it had been us instead of Dagenham in the Third Round? Obviously it would move lots of teams. I'm hoping the 're-jigged' draw would be us away at Exeter or Newport or something horrible like that!

But if it would have been Liverpool/Man Utd/Chelsea...

Would almost certainly have lost money (again) as the away team take their travel costs out of the gate I understand before the remainder is split between the FA and both clubs.

I need to grab as much as I can these days......of course it would have been even more costly as the game wouldn't even have started due to the area 'black out' assuming that they would be able to claim for travel and overnight accom to date.....

Nobody could have realistically got to the game anyway, even if we had hired a generator. I had forgotten all about it.
Dagenham were winning for 90 minutes, maybe their tactic was to play for a guaranteed tv replay and be in the 3rd round draw. Win/win £££££.
Meanwhile we will have another free FA Cup weekend, so won't need to dust down the Away end for a while longer yet

As Morecambe or Dagenham vs Whitehawk was the penultimate tie drawn in round two, the winner was always going to be ball 63 from 64 - in fact sides playing in round 2 should be able to work out their potential round three number as soon as the second round draw is complete.

Sides who qualify automatically (Premiership and Championship sides) for round three are allocated numbers 1-44 on a alphabetical basis.

All of this means that if Morecambe weren't complete bottle jobs, we would have played Everton away, made a fortune and given the fans a day to remember.

I always wondered how it worked. So first round is alphabetical, then number one in round two, is the winner of the first two teams drawn for round one?
