Parliament Street in Lancaster has flooded the lune is in red flood warning

Bus station gone so walked round castle to millennium bridge. About 4 foot to spare from being over the top, bearing in mind it is usually probably 20 foot!
Pitch black, helicopters and alarms everywhere, certainly some cheap kitchens on Monday

Apparently there was a party in the hospitality room at the globe last night and the electricity cut affected it around 10pm and people had to evacuate, I know it's our home ground and cursed whenever we play there but hopefully there's no major damages !

Absolutely. Flood plains are for 'taking flood water' not for building on. Concrete estates (including paved front gardens) are creating less and less land where the water can soak into the ground. Tree roots take surplus water deep into the ground, take away the trees and compact the surface soil with animal over use and the water can only run into rivers which then overflow. The answers are there if we will only use our land correctly.

Been a bit quiet on here, hope them trains can get to Blackpool for tomorrow

My mum lives in a care home in Torrisholme and they' had to rely on a generator for limited power. However thanks to the sterlingvwork done by the power company it sounds as though the power to the majority is now restored. We're quick to castigate but slow to acknowledged excellence when it happens. Well done to the authorites in my opinion.

This is not selfish in any way shape or form because I'm busy that day and really want to go.

Power came back on at 4.10am in Heysham. Had to get up and switch everything off as we were lit up like a Cathedral.
Had to wander up to Carnforth as Greyhound Bridge and Skerton bridge still closed this am.
Probably home from Preston the same way!

I took a day off anyway ! Thought the roads would be a mess without me adding to it, only a commute to Preston but I'm guessing I'd have to go through Halton from here at Scale Hall with Skerton bridge shut. Although yesterday I did a recce on the bike and Denny Beck bridge was still open with cars crossing. But I agree wholeheartedly with the above post , when you see how much water there was passing through Lancaster , they've done a brilliant job to get it back up and working so quickly.
My 4 teenagers thought the world had ended yesterday morning though , no Comms = civilization over ! I

The power came on at 10.30 last night but has just gone off again. Are they sharing the available power around by turning different areas on and off?

No. Your either lucky or your not. I'm on Westgate near the school and have power but the Hurley Flyer and Globe do not. Part of Regent Road and Balmoral Road do but most roads leading off them don't. The Christmas lights on Regent Road are on which is crazy.

Work to fix the issue will resume at 8 in the morning.

I'm on scale hall and 1/4 of the street have electricity, and the other 3/4 do not!

Luckily, I'm in the 1/4 that do!
