Can you help us?

Plymouth Argyle fan in peace …

Hi everyone - I hope you don’t mind that I’ve signed up to your forum with the following post.

I belong to a Plymouth Argyle supporters group known as The Green Taverners and we’ve recently joined together with our football club, PAFC, to record a single in aid of a charity called - The Chestnut Appeal .

http://www.chestnutappeal.org.uk/about-us

As we all know, Prostate Cancer is one of those things in life that may have affected yourself or someone very close to you throughout your own life time and for this reason alone, we’re thoroughly committed towards wanting to raise as much money as possible for this charity, as well as trying to help promote the awareness of Prostate Cancer amongst every man up and down the country.

The song, itself (which features some of our current players), is called ‘The Janner Song’ and is currently available to pre order on iTunes (99p) and Amazon (79p) – due to go ‘live’ on Saturday (12th December).

Whilst our ultimate aim is to raise money for / awareness of Prostate Cancer - for every download you make, this will also help to get our single into the UK charts – which, in turn, will help to promote the reasoning behind doing this in the first place.

We appreciate that the lyrics of the single relates to the city of Plymouth etc and therefore, (understandably) wouldn’t ordinarily be something that would interest / appeal to you - but we hope, as a one-off, you’ll be able to see beyond the song to support the cause instead.

For less than £1
- ALL of the proceeds will go to The Chestnut Appeal and will be invaluable in helping towards saving many people’s lives.

As you will see by this twitter account https://twitter.com/daznotman we’re humbled by having the support of a Brighton fan who, off his own back, is trying to lend us a hand by supporting us with our quest:-

"Every football fan can be a #Janner to support Argyle with this charity single. We as Brighton fans got a single in the charts during our campaign to get our new ground. So fans around the country buy or download this single when it comes out, and help them raise a lot of money, and help them get the single in the charts together we can never be defeated".

Apologies for such a long post everyone, but many, many thanks for taking the time to read this message (if you got this far!), it’s very much appreciated.

Sometimes in life – football / who we support – really doesn’t matter.

Kind regards,
The Green Taverners.

Many thanks for wishing us well with this, outsider - Prostate Cancer needs all the awareness it can have to get the message 'out there' to everyone.

If anyone has a moment to spare please go to https://twitter.com/greentaverners and RT your support. Every little helps.

Will look forward to good friday when we come up to play you again :)
