FA Cup (not o/t)

If Pompey beat Accy, it will cost us a lot. As we are due to play Pompey on 9th Jan, 3rd round day. :( :( :(

That's a relief , Radio Lancashire would have been unbearable !

They will probably wait for the draw and if its a big premier club they will sell tickets for the match that might have been

Ironically, Barnsley v Fleetwood (JPT) has been arranged for a Saturday - the 9th which is FA Cup day. That wouldn't have been possible for us as we would have been playing Everton at Goodison.

Edit: just woken up :(

Saw Barnsley play Wigan last week. Looks like Dunfermline or Queen of the South if Waterworld has receded

Dunfermline are top of League 1 and are at home to Ross Co from the Premier in the Cup. Be nice to watch a Cup match in January

Dunfermline is cheapest by a long way splitting the journeys: (Day return £65.30 :o )
08.08 Lancaster - Edinburgh £21
10.48 (every half hour) Edinburgh - Dunfermline (15min walk from town to East End Park)
17.33 or 18.07 Dunfermline - Edinburgh £6.40 return
18.52 Edinburgh - Lancaster £10.50

If my mind serves me right, it was the time we were sitting on the train to go North, with an odd ring pull already tugged. The driver wasn't allowed to continue cos a duck had hit the windscreen. We were delayed 50 minutes and I was able to get half my money back - remember thinking why couldn't they delay another 10 minutes to get the jackpot

Rain and ducks (and wife) permitting I'm looking at that Dunfermline v Ross County Game.

No need to buy tickets in advance unless you are desperate to save a fiver - buy a Lancaster to Haymarket Return (£35.60) and a Haymarket to Dunfermline return (£6.40) on the day! Oh an travel on the 08:42 from Lancaster.

This time around will the staff and locals in the Commercial Inn (CAMRA pub of the year for the area) remember us? Will Mr J Geddies invite us all into his house again? And can anyone remember what PARS stands for?

Thought I might get a bite. Yes but if you buy a ticket in advance and the duck strikes again you are quids in.

Pars are the lines on their shirts aren't they? Blondie made an album

Hook, line and sinker! You're quids in either way if the duck dives again!

I'll leave that pars question open for other takers, the answer is obscure but football related!

Could we make it a hat trick, three visits to dunfermline, three big wins! The first trip in 2013 will take some beating mind, play off second leg, they go 4-1 down on aggregate to forfar but the visitors then live up to their nickname, the loons, have 3 players sent off and the manager and the pars win 6-4 on aggregate after extra time!

At least 3 League 2 sides on the telly

7.55pm Friday 8 January
Exeter City v Liverpool - BBC 1 ..Exeter get £144K from the BBC and have put Main Stand tickets up to £37 and other areas by at least 44%. Having said that, this will be peanuts as if they can get a draw they will be nearing £1M

12.45pm Saturday 9 January
Wycombe Wanderers v Aston Villa - BT Sport

5.30pm Saturday 9 January
Manchester United v Sheffield United - BT Sport

12noon, Sunday 10 January
Oxford United v Swansea City - BBC 2 Wales

2pm Sunday 10 January
Chelsea v Leyton Orient or Scunthorpe United - BT Sport

4pm Sunday 10 January
Tottenham Hotspur v Leicester City - BBC 1

Liverpool and Eastleigh fans distinctly unhappy!

Still up for this but watching the train situation. Nothing going up the west side past Carlisle all this weekend. Had to come back via Newcastle today.
