That must be a factor too that needs addressing but that will need all the clubs to tell the Football League what a shambolic mess they have made of the fixtures , not good for the fans and defo not good for the clubs . Even though there has been a couple of postponements , the entire fixture list is a sham . It used to be almost guaranteed that it was one week at home and the following week away and the Christmas & New Year fixtures kept pretty local as they could be. Any Morecambe fans who can only attend games on a Saturday have had one hell of a wait from 24th Oct to 16th Jan and will have probably found something else to do and another routine to get into on a Saturday .

GOV.UK: Supporter Ownership and Engagement

I came across this press release today, a report has been published looking at the relationship between football clubs and its supporters... it sort of covers what we are discussing on this thread - a lack on engagement between the club, its supporters which is perceived by many as a reason why we can't attract sponsors or decent crowds.

Supporters of professional clubs across the country will have more opportunities to bid to own their football clubs when suitable opportunities arise, and will also meet with their clubs at least twice a year to discuss issues important to them, Sports Minister Tracey Crouch announced today"

Sports Minister Tracey Crouch said:

“Supporters are the lifeblood of the clubs they support but over time there has been a growing disconnect between them and those that run their clubs. So it was right that government set up this group and brought the football authorities and supporters together to see what more can be done for clubs to engage with fans.”

BBC Sport Article

'Other recommendations of the report include:

Any planned substantial changes to club colours or crests to be discussed with fans as part of the structured engagement.'

Can't remember the above when we ditched the town crest for a cartoon prawn on an Arsenal shield.

And they were quick to point out that the MFC fans were consulted when they decided to make the Globe home and away terraces standing rather than seats. I don't remember them consulting anyone on this or they may have taken notice of all the fans who wanted the North Stand at Christie Park moved to the home end of the Globe.

I was thinking about this the other day.

I'm sure I didn't dream it, but I'm sure I recall some kind of big competition being announced in 2009 (when the move and re-brand  was being launched) where fans were being invited to design the new club badge??

Obviously it didn't happen as Posh (I'm sure) was instrumental in the design of the "new" crest.

the badge is horrible, it was an attempt at being ''corporate'', another case of identity theft, as for our corporate ''success'' the globe function suite, I believe it has zero bookings this month, so the name ''globe'' means nothing anyway, ''so the old crest back, the name christie park back, a fanzone marquee with tv's behind the goals, and reasonable priced season tickets in instalments would be 4 good starting points please Steve?

Lots of points above I agree with. One thing for me is lack of "derbies". I've said before I believe league 1 and 2 should change to north and south.
A league with, Wigan, Rochdale, fleetwood, Blackpool, Bury, Bolton, Accrington, Carlisle, Oldham, Sheffield United etc would help everyone's attendances and maybe revive some passion.

And I've said before that that won't work while the conference is national, so to get this you'd end up with League 2 North and South after a merger with the conference. Whilst I appreciate it would potentially help with attendances, I think it's a bit of a parochial attitude personally. Besides, next season, unless we get promoted, we'll have plenty of local teams in League 2. ;)

''The golden pie'', somewhere in someones pie, is a golden token, between now and the end of the season, the lucky winner, gets a season ticket, (Offer applies to existing season ticket holders only, in block C1 of the PMG Temple)

Not really. The badge changed because in the scenario of us drawing a massive club in the cup, anyone could knock out the tat with the town crest on and do the club out of a lot of cash.

Globe needs to be rebranded. The construction company was a joke as a builder and it looks shit.

OK, I can't do much about most things listed on here.

But, I can pass on the matchday posters put out by the club each month, as long as nobody objects!
just go to http://www.bkc3.info/ for the latest poster.

I hope this helps a little bit.

But at least we can try and sue them and chase them off rather than just look all angry.

It was the right decision that one. Although it does look a bit tacky, I failed to see alternatives presented at the time!

Too expensive. I used to be a season ticket holder home end but it's too expensive for the football on show. It's boring, even the pies are too expensive. No Were to stand behind the home stand when it's raining.

Got to agree with this ten fold.

Yeovil game when the snow was coming down in droves it was depressing!!

Forks, spoons, sugar sachets and serviettes etc left outside on the table getting pissed wet through. Queuing up getting soaked. For those that partake, having to have a beer outside in the wet.

Needs a cover of some sort as was discussed (and being planned) years ago.

All about the money, money, money though.

I think the fact that Town Council came calling and wanted some cash from the club for the use of the towns badge made the club rush in to changing it to the thing we have now.

Trouble is that the club seem intent on some "grand design", costing £silly, which is a great aspiration, but realistically ain't going to happen any time soon. Nice to dream, and probably far better long term for the club, especially if it could be used on non match days for other purposes. But, that vision is clearly holding back the club from doing something short term as a temporary fix for today's dwindling numbers of match day fans.

There are far cheaper options, such as some kind of canopy which would cost only a fraction yet would achieve the same simple goal of keeping the people dry whilst drinking their pint or eating their pie. A fairly simple framework with a corrugated plastic sheet roof would be easy and relatively cheap to install - something like a bigger version of those smoking shelters outside pubs. It doesn't need walls, doesn't need heating, just a shelter from the rain. Not perfect, but if that's all that can be afforded, then it needs to happen sooner rather later.

We keep banging on about some sort of cover behind the omega to shelter people at half time but thinking back what did we have at Christie ?. As I remember we had to queue at the burger van then dive back into the stand for cover .

Agreed, we had nothing at Christie, but, you'd think with a new build.........

Just a minor gripe, perhaps. Puts fans off coming though for sure.

Wasn't a permanent thing, but I remember being in what resembled a caravan awning with a plastic roof behind the North stand. Yes not ideal, but stopped you from getting a soaking and watering down ya beer. Got pretty busy in there too.
How such a simple thing can be neglected for so long and upset so many people over 7 seasons is just crazy in my opinion.. when meanwhile they moan about decreasing gates.
I suspect the plastic will have to be flame retardant now.. Plymouth have had to spend a few quid upgrading their marquee on that basis.
If they let 200 stop away fans Club together the price of a season ticket each, they could sort a canopy out. Speculate to accumulate and give those fans a free pass for the season
Enjoy yourself.... It is later than you think

The fact that it wouldn't be a great expense ,coupled with the Clubs reluctance to do anything regarding facilities behind the home end, DESPITE PROMISING THE OPPOSITE, almost looks like arrogance , digging their heels in and cutting off their own noses, this club never does anything that comes from a fans suggestion.

MPH , if you barely have a penny to scratch your arse with suddenly things that "wouldn't be a great expense" suddenly becomes out of reach which doesn't help when you have fans who want everything for nothing. I presume you have always got everything you have been PROMISED In life Spuddy , if that's the case you have been very lucky

Oh sorry , I get it, why didn't you say this before the fans started deserting, Bill., and we could have had a whip round to raise the money for a modest shelter ourselves!, As for whatever sort of life I have had, thats frankly none of your business.
