Amond watch

not buying the 'he's found his level'

he's good in 1 on 1 situations with the Goal Keeper, there is no difference with non League and L2.

feed the goat(Amond) and he will score.

Great to see the Gary Lineker of lower League brimming with confidence. Looking at that it makes me think - Why can't we get a striker like that? :?
Oh look, he's a striker - virtually every goal is scored within the width of the 6 yard line and up to about the penalty spot out, can't see him on the wing drifting about much :(

The lad is a poacher and IMHO should still be here.

He always put a shift in even if Jim did think he was a winger and I can see him either coming up with Grimsby and doing well or signing for another league club if Grimsby miss out on promotion.

Is there any chance of shutting down this thread? It is becoming rather boring. We all know the point, and I am among the plenty of us who liked Podge as a player and thought he was misused, but pleeeeeeeeease, get over it!

It is, although he is only being used as a late sub mainly these days.

I just hope that Podge can stay fit having backed him pre-season to be the leagues top goalscorer having seen him bang in 9 goals in 6 pre-season games.

When all said and done, we are pretty familiar with the division below and realistically any of the top 6 would do pretty well in League 2.
However, below that there are teams with good players but not in every position for League 2. Therefore its going to be a little easier, surely?

He's a good lad is Podge, and perhaps never was given a good run down the middle, but it's gone now, good luck to him!!
I still maintain Redshaw, Mullin and now Redshaw's replacement Miller, are all better!
Just saying. :D

I hate to agree with you again Freez....

So I won't. I agree about Redshaw & Miller, but I'd actually prefer Podge to Mullin, tbh.

And Marky, cod knows it takes more than a haddock to upset me. I'd put him in his plaice first. I might get a little crabby now and then, and even flex my mussels if necessary. Now, however, I think I'd better clam up.

Is that the same Miller that the manager decided wasn't good enough to play on Tuesday? Strange team selections!

TBF Fulwood Shrimp, Miller is good enough but Jim rested him as we had four games in a short space of time, hence all the changes on Tuesday!
He mentioned it in an interview.

don't think there is much with Goalkeepers, when Amond is 1 vs 1, he's only passing the ball into the net.

a recent video clip on here with him, shows all his goals infront of goal with one thing on his mind.

I agree about the keepers generally, but surely defences are not quite as switched on or they wouldn't be playing generally in the conference. It's a sweeping generalisation but it works so on and on up the leagues!

I loved Podge, he had a better first touch than Mullin and could finish well, but Mullers is faster, a decent finisher and cheaper, so maybe that had some bearing on it? I don't know!!
