you would be surprised, that a lot of people don't realize that Stage 1' and Stage 2' are completely different fund wise, they might aswell be at the other end of the UK to each other.

it is a case of speaking to the right person, if MFC phone up the reception, they could easily be put through to the wrong person department and fobbed off.

Don't you think that is something you would persist with George until you got the right person when there could be a great opportunity to attract a major company as your sponsor . :?:

Not really. The badge changed because in the scenario of us drawing a massive club in the cup, anyone could knock out the tat with the town crest on and do the club out of a lot of cash.

Globe needs to be rebranded. The construction company was a joke as a builder and it looks shit.

You mean like when we drew Newcastle United in the League Cup and this happened anyway?

But at least we can try and sue them and chase them off rather than just look all angry.

It was the right decision that one. Although it does look a bit tacky, I failed to see alternatives presented at the time![/quote]

Thanks to someone for making the logical argument about the crest rather than the usual slag off without knowing the facts.

For the record PMG made it clear that we needed a new crest because of the copyright issue. The club were effectively told by the newly formed Morecambe Town Council they would be using it too. Two directors wanted to continue to use the shield irrespective. Fat Media were commissioned to present alternatives. A number of drafts were presented, including one with shrimps on it. I remember one of the directors now in a senior capacity saying something like, 'no fucking shrimps!'. We went back to the drawing board and at a MFC board meeting at the offices of Bench we presented three ideas. The Shrimp one that was chosen was a complete wild card but PMG went for it immediately and backed by a majority of the board. Here, for the first time ever, is one of the alternatives. I quite liked it as it followed the brief of keeping to the original crest.

Finally we used a 'comedy prawn' for longer than we used the town crest and was much loved by older fans as we discovered.

This is great as the ''rising sun'' pays homage to our eastern connections, what a shame we never used it, is that the ''slow boat to china'' as well?

The main reason for the drop in gates is the crap being served upon the pitch! People come to be entertained and gates would improve if the football on the pitch did! You could have the best facilities in the country but if the fare being offered on the pitch was awful people will stay away.

Think most folk would agree with you, however there is very little we the fans could do to change what's served up on the pitch. With some rallying around though we could get a few improvements to the home end to make a half time beer that bit more enjoyable! It will also generate a bit of much needed positive publicity for the Club.

I got it!!!! EMF!! 1990??

On the subject of the wet forks, I've mentioned that a bit and the wet serviette and sugar sachets. It's bloody ridiculous.

Somebody DID actually put a video on Facebook last week about "having a beer in the snow"

About time somebody posted a message like this. Straight to the point....It's the utter lack of entertainment and at times pure crap that the team serve up that has lead to the dramatic drop in gates.

People will not continue to fork our hard earned cash if they see the lack of constructive football that entertains. Gone are the days of free flowing football that had the crowd on their feet and the Omega gang in full voice.

Unless things change our club will follow others into non league obscurity....never to return.

We waited decades for League football....it's in danger of becoming a thing of the past.

Not happy ....at all...

I'm fed up with the poor football, odd tactics that I'm picking & choosing the games I want to see.
Until JB is replaced that is what I will do. I know I'm not the only one to think the same.

Christies Child, you change your views more often than your Bill Grundies! You've got a different face for every occasion. Let's be realistic in the circumstances, where we are is about as good as it's probably going to get!

Your thoughts are welcome BUT the one thing I have been consistent on all season is the lack of entertainment and as far back as close season I warned that our defence was suspect something which I take no pride in being found to be correct!!!

What I find particular annoying about this latest defeat is that at Wycombe we pressed and forced them into making mistakes from the off. By the sounds of it v Northampton we did the exact opposite. We allowed then space to dictate the game by playing far too deep and (dare I say it) using the hoof ball which we all know doesn't work with the players we have particularly in midfield where the lack of height means that we hardly ever win a header....or have I got that wrong as well... :?: :?: :?:

Totally agree with your last paragraph c/c and i reckon the players themselves would rather play the ball on the ground and higher up the pitch.

CC as I saw it WW were a team who like to get it forward fast even hoofball so pressing them high up field did limit this.
Northampton are a good passing side so if we had done this against them they would simply pass it round us quickly, as in the first goal.
It's horse's for courses.
